Cheers Desp, that's spoiled my morning!
It was hard to take the climate deniers seriously back in 2015(ish) when they decided to get rid of all the 'green crap', lower building standards one year short of the goal, and utterly obliterate the insulation/home improvement programmes. Now we are inheriting the whirlwind, due to FF gas prices, they want to lay into the 'green crap' again.
This is going beyond ideology, it's now complete denial of the realities and economics of insulation, RE, and higher efficiency space heating.
I assume they'll be pushing for coal powered transport next?

For a long time now the Tory party has existed for just two things, hold onto power and enrich themselves and their mates, they dont care about us one Iota. What baffles me is why so much of the electorate keep voting against their best interests........Bugtownboy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 9:06 am2 years to take us back 70 years - listening to the rest of the cabinet (why mates and not the best person ), their views are depressing.dan_b wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 8:55 am Rees-Mogg's off-shore investment vehicle Somerset Capital Management holds very large investment positions in several oil, coal and gas companies.
His interests are clear and obvious.
Worth remembering too that Liz Truss is an ex-employee of Shell.
I think the next 2 years are going to be excruciating.
Now, I hope, the electorate are realising what a moderating influence being part of the EU was.
Emigrating to France becomes ever more appealing!

Looks like Clockman has plenty of space - we could establish the new physical Camelot commune !
Seriously, it’s something that keeps crossing our mind, but a bit further South. Trouble is, for some reason, to get residency in the EU is now more complicated.
Can’t think how that happened

Exactly. Years ago I knew a chap that had worked all his life in the print business in Manchester, working for the Mirror group. Hard working, salt of the earth type of person, helped me out no end by volunteering to lend a hand without being asked. He voted Conservative his whole life. Idolised Thatcher, and became even more of a Conservative supporter after Maxwell robbed him of his entire pension. The man was completely irrational, and failed to understand that robbing ordinary people blind was par for the course for Conservative governments, as is ignoring fraud and encouraging lying. Johnson couldn't even stop himself from openly lying during his farewell speech. Good to see the BBC fact checked it to highlight the lies.spread-tee wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 10:53 am For a long time now the Tory party has existed for just two things, hold onto power and enrich themselves and their mates, they dont care about us one Iota.
