Good news for the Tesla semi, is that the factory construction is coming along fast, with floors and roofs going in, and super deep foundations at one end (where the building will also be taller) to fit in the massive gigapresses. I think they start production in late 2025, with potential mass production in 2026 .... but that's Elon time, so take very little notice of me.

Testing and evalution of the semi's is still on-going, with very good reports back from Pepsi and some others now, who have ~100, plus another ~100 or so, in use by Tesla themselves.

Not sure if they've fully finalised them yet, or still revising/tweaking etc etc as use/mileage grows. But lots of fuel saving potential. Plus of course the oft unsung heroes of Volvo and Daimler, who have chucked out many different versions of their ICE trucks as BEV's. Not sure though if any of this is even a blip on the radar compared to all the BYD vans, buses and trucks they've been pouring out.

If anyone is interested, the first few minutes of this recent video shows the progress at the Semi factory through this year, and current state. And as a bonus, then leads onto news from the Chinese Megapacktory (to build Megapacks), which has shot up, and might start production in Q1 2025. Rumours around the factory size, suggest it may have a capacity of 80GWh pa, twice that of the US Megapack factory.

Structural batteries may be impossible to replace.
8.7kWp PV [2.12kWp SSW + 4.61kWp ESE PV + 2.0kWp WNW PV]
Two BEV's.
Two small A2A heatpumps.
20kWh Battery storage.
