No, I can't turn off the 5GHz. However, I can take my phone far away from the router, so it connects at 2.4GHz and then use that to set up the Octopus Home Mini. That has allowed it to setup ok, and it is returning some data - but I think the data flow is one-way ie Octopus-to-me. The data that needs to flow from my Smart Meter to Octopus and then back to me doesn't seem to work, so I'm guessing the upstream data flow is the issue - which is probably tied in with the Ports - as suggested by Kommando.
I'll speak to Vodafone and see what they have to say. The problem with a dumbed-down router is that its not much good when things go wrong! It's also not relaying commands from my home hub to my ethernet relay....but all the tuya devices are working flawlessly. Im not clever enough to work out how that might happen!

Re: Octopus Mini no longer working
That is why I was asking about your old router which the Octopus mini worked with. If you still have it you could use that to provide WiFi to the Octopus Mini (and any other problem devices) by simply connectig an ethernet cable between the 2 routers, disabling DHCP on the old router and changing its IP address to avoid conflict with the new one. The aesthertic problem should be postponed until you have validated that things work with both touters connected assuming the powers that be would grant you permission

Re: Octopus Mini no longer working
Tuya devices are a security risk, connect one to your phone for setup and it get all of your phones Wifi SIDD's and passwords. You can check this by moving the Tuya device after its been setup to a new area with another Wifi SSID and it will magically connect.but all the tuya devices are working flawlessly
To get the ports open then you need to change the Vodafone router to your old one using the Vodafone WAN username and login details. Just adding your old router but still using the Vodafone router for the WAN connection will not open the ports even if they are open on the old router as the Vodafone router still has them blocked.
Re: Octopus Mini no longer working
Sounds like swapping the new router for the old router is going to be the best option in that case. Just got to work out what all the Vodafone settings are, and I'll give it a go. Don't imagine that Vodafone will find me an alternative router, and the one they gave me probably shuts down everything they don't want me to do!
