Feck, the missus bought into the panic, we have a further 2 litres of unnecessary sunflower oil. ..it is no longer a wine n' booze rack, by definition.
We are now "oil hoarders" ...thing is whilst it is better than rape seed oil (banned here) we tend to only ever have 1 litre in the house, for years now it's been olive oil then sunflower ( a smidgen for eggs which the new induction pans should have resolved) sesame oil (for stir fry & quick noodles) butter for everything else.
I estimate we now have 5+ years likely 8 years worth of sunflower oil at current consumption,
(however I assure you all that all those kilo's of marmite I have on the shelves is very necessary indeed)

Everyone seems calm now. However, unless something changes, we are in for a shock! Food prices and availability are coming under stress from a whole bunch of angles:
- Energy prices eat into production of fertiliser, food processing, food transportation.
- The war in Ukraine means that last year's harvest cannot get out of the country and this years cannot be harvested because storage is full.

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Re: Rationing of vegetable oils?
It’s more that the problem for later this year/next year is that farmers can’t get in the fields to plant for this years harvest.
