Nice to see 11A out of the shed pair.
Image

The second pair are in and cables pulled back to garage. Hoping to receive the HMS 1000 2T tomorrow and we'll.see what these old units can generate together.

Image

Might run the second pair up on the Enphase IQ7 while I'm waiting tomorrow.

P.S I have tidied the cables since taking this photo. :D

IQ7 Enphase is up and running this morning. 0.02A difference between both sets of panels.

Image

Image

I am glad to have seen the Enphase red light on me this morning after running for days with no trouble on the back deck. Bodes well for the Hoymiles 400 1T out in Turkey firing straight up when we get it out there in Oct.

Hopefully the HMS 1000 2T will arrive soon to finalise this final installation. :xx:

This day is a good test of what we can expect in.poor weather. Scavenging bits of solar here and there, I like that!

Image

Export rate is set at 40% with 78% soc at 11.00hrs. I'll adjust at 13.00hrs depending on gain/loss.

Image

Edit, not bad, 70% soc at 13.00hrs. I'll up the discharge rate to 70% and run for another two hours.

Image

It has now cleared up here at 17.00 hrs and set at 90% discharge rate to export. 53% soc.

Hmm. Brexit, smashing on so few levels. :(

They've only had the parcel in Aberdeen depot since the 24th Aug.

Oscar Handel sourced no charges
Offgridtec sourced (twice), charges both times.

For anyone looking to buy in from Germany, I'd try Oscar.

Happy with that, 32kWh exported at this point (21.15hrs).

Image

There is a LOT of capacity left in the 2 LF stacks. Can easily see that sub 20% soc supplied by the P techs run back up to 25% soc as power shifts back from the LF's to the P techs.

Still all a learning curve! :)

'Might' have convinced my pal to go for a Hoymiles HMS 1600 4T micro inverter and 4 x 405W Longi city plumbing panels. He had a good look at our systems then after that he kept looking at the sun as it dipped in and out. Fish on the line! :D

We've seen 14+ Amps on the Hoymiles 400W today and 8+ Amps on the IQ7 250W micro. Must be up over the 650W mark incoming?

The damage for customs was £46. Delivery is tomorrow, looking forward to seeing the performance of the new Hoymiles unit as both the Enphase IQ7 and Hoymiles 400 hit their respective limits this morning.

Edit, best seen on the temporary micros
12.5A on Hoymiles 400 unit
9.2A on Enphase IQ7 unit

Ooh, just arrived!

Image

It's HUGE! I'll do a side by side with it's HMS400 1T cousin tomorrow.

Image

Was out splitting & stacking today and noticed this. Yes I know, a burst erse, really badly built roof at first glance (possibly second glance too). Could it be (with rework) a dual panel carrying space?

Image

Panel count here is a nice round 40. 8-)

The day has been kind to me. Sun is shining. We are seeing 35.5V and a combined 23A off of the Womble 4 and into the Hoymiles HMS 1000 2T. That's at 11.30hrs so there is room for growth. 816W. :)

We did see 12.5A the other day on the HMS 400, if that repeats on the twin channels we'll be up around the 900W mark. Good to know especially on a secondhand Womble system that on its best new day would produce 980W?

Image

Image

Image

Waiting on the field service plug and i'll fit that to the Now destined to be Turkish Unit (HMS 400)
Image

At the production rate seen (816W) this latest balcony system will earn 12.25p per hour. On its very best May day it might actually make a quid. How good is that? 8-)

Cost to date for 1kW PV system.
4 of 245W panels £160
100 mtr roll 4mm DC cable £48
10 of mc4 sets £10
Hoymiles field connection £10
Hoymiles HMS 1000 2T £180
2 sets Y branch £12
Import duty £46
Grand total £466

I am left with a Enphase IQ7 micro, 80mtrs of DC cable and a couple of MC4's. I'll keep an eye out for a used 250W panel up this way and stick it up on the lower woodstore. If all this Micro inverter shenanigans has taught my anything it's that its better to have second hand gear producing than laying about in someone's garden doing nothing. :ugeek:

I went into the woods last year and pollarded a load of sun blocking trees. I've avoided going back in all season to give everything a fair chance from the forest floor.

Check it out! :D
