Finally took some E meter readings this morning which led me on towards the greatest use of E here at Turkish hoose is the HWT. This led me on towards thinking are A2HWHP a thing?

A quick Google search popped up a Singapore company at a 1st pass.

Out tank here is 10 years old, just had element pulled and decalcified so should be good for a few years yet.

Always worthwhile going on these mental exercises upstream of the day it's needed.

P.S, it's over £2k for a 60ltr hwt!

I'm sure heat pump HWC's have been discussed on here already and with the price of electricity in Turkey you'd be insane to even consider one.

If you lived somewhere tropical that would be a brilliant thing to instal... saves on your a/c bill (or enhances the a/c's effect) and gives hot water. Especially good if your only way of heating water was resistive electricity.
However here I wouldn't want to take warmth out of the house unnecessarily - and would be a big investment for summer-only use!

JB, I have been looking at HP HWC for quite some time but I have to agree with Finntray that out in Türkiye it would never make any sense - cant really make it work in the UP at the elevated electric prices we pay! - if you wanted to do anything environmentally sensible out there it would be a good old fashioned solar tube water heater or if you want buy a solar shower bag and hang it up on the balcony cheap as chips and probably the most effective benefit and gain you would get for your efforts?

I too am attracted by the idea of a HP DHW cylinder. However like a lot of this stuff there is a laundry-list of downsides.

1) The price is just way too high. A normal resistive cylinder might be £400 whereas a HP one is £2300 (https://www.heatershop.co.uk/dimplex-ed ... -pump-170l).
2) The CoP is pretty terrible. All the ones I've seen claim 2-4.
3) They require large ducts (particularly problematic in a traditional British airing cupboard in the middle of a house).
4) They're very bulky.

I get the point if you live in a typical American house. Here the HP cylinder replaces both the water heater and dehumidifier typically sited in a basement. And you can even duct the exhaust air into the house if you require cooling.

Frankly, if you have access to a ToU tariff, resistive is hard to beat!

3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
6x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (14.4kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

I know, I just liked the appeal of in house heat going into the hwc and cooling effect.

I wouldn't pursue it. Maybe in 10yrs when the price has dropped and smaller tanks appear.

I had a request in from Valiant this morning saying that Aberdeen Air Source had requested remote access to my system and would i authorise? Since they didn't bother (AAS) to contact me and seek my permission first they are onto plums.

I think that Vaillant has access to your system and AAS must (I believe) have to go through Vaillant to be able to monitor your system, the request for access to mine also came from Vaillant.

Thanks Iain, check this out though. Manners dictate that you should ask first. I'm uncomfortable that they didn't bother to. I'll still employ them for the annual service but won't be giving access. I may be older skool than I passingly thought.

Happy days on a couple of levels. Got a confirmed date for stage 2 of the 3g installation. 6th May for four days. Happy with that as I have to nip over to Ireland. Had to nip at their heels a wee bit to get locked in but they did come through.

Also had our brand spank first ever Inverter washing machine arrive and hooked up. They fairly make some weird noises and wash different? I think it's smashing!

Hoping this is on the new energy efficiency scale as discussed with Nowty a couple of years back?

Surely only a madman would be sitting on the toilet seat with a beer enjoying the very obviously difference in tech?

The loudest thing about it so far is the clothes falling down within the drum. This is clever stuff, impressed.

I've been on the tom toms to see if we can find a young couple or someone looking to have an outdoor covered machine. I hope to relife as it's a fully functional machine. Just had a few too many soaks from flood incidents...

Beer never shifted! Well, the level did.
Astonishing bit of kit!

Heat pump washing machine...? I've got a heat pump dryer I think.

I need a new washing machine any suggestions? :xl:

Never buying LG again by the way. Developed a leak. Paid £159 to repair it.

They contracted it out to Pacifica, they came out. Couldn't fix, needed screws off LG. Waited months... Nothing. Contacted Pacifica and was told LG cancelled the repair.

Wouldn't refund the repair... Wouldn't come back out and fix. Unless I paid another £159.

Shocking.
