So as the trial continues it gets harder and harder to get half the average 🙄

Think I'll give this a miss for same reasons as others - absolute minumum use outside Go hours :D

Did anyone do the Octopus Turn Down event yesterday,

Well Octopus, I calculate my smart meter data shows an average closer to 0.01 kWh but I guess your just rounding it up to the nearest 0.1 kWh which is in my favour.
Image

Today I checked how I did and looks like I met my target so I get a refund for 0.001 kWh, around 0.02 p.
Hopefully they will round it up to the nearest penny. ;)

Got my reward and instead of rounding my rebate up to a penny, I am being paid 20p as a minimum amount.

So my rebate was upgraded by 1000 times the actual amount I used.

Nice one Nowty and the 8.26 tonnes of CO2 saved from the atmosphere is a good result too!

Round 2 of the turn down even and another 20p reward, but I only reduced my usage by 97% this time verses 100% last time.

But it will allow a free 4kWh in the EV tonight.

And almost double the collective reduction of CO2 in the second event.

Due to their rounding errors, I am almost guaranteed to hit my target every time even if I use slightly more than my actual very low average import.

The credit has been applied for the first two Turn Down events.

Not a bad outcome for me only using 0.004 kWh during those 4 hrs.
The min credit means I received an equivalent rebate of £100 per kWh. :D

It's a shame the HAN from smart meters isn't available to any consumer devices yet...

Doing this all manually is entirely the oppersite of what the smart meter and HAN was meant to enable.

its a shame some of you guys though it would not be worth it because you have battery systems like me, but tonight's task is,

It will still be a challenge to get my usage as close to 11kWh as possible to maximise my reward.
