A quick update.
Loving the Victron gear, so glad I went for it, but my oh my is it easy to fiddle and b0rk it.
Accidently update the Venos OS to 3.31, all I wanted to do was check for an update, fat finger moment and b00m, downloading and updating, no "Are you really sure" prompts.
Anyways, all good, not broken it. But I dearly want to try Node Red and automate the Octopus Agile cheaper times (Alas, Node Red is unsupported) despite Victron having a decent implementation path and having videos how to do it. Its a manual process right now.
I wish they had some sort of virtual environment you could tinker with
A few more milestones today:
Just ticked over 7.0 kWh out of a forecasted 7.4, not bad for a coupla 575w panels
Grid power, based on cheap kWh from Octopus on agile.
Battery hovering around 93% after a coupla mid day boosts, I now charge to around 95% during mid day runs so that Solar can cover the rest, tonight looks like wind is down a bit so cba faffing around and will do a midnight to 7am "burn"
So, that idea didnt last long. 5p is 5p damn it.

Final update to this thread.
I got my DNO G99 A1.1 form back today Approved.
So, should we get some sun and I get an export tariff I'll be sorted.
This is DC export only, so I'm not likely to export much when I'm home but when I'm away in June for a week on the Isle of Man I hope there will be some exporting going on.
Agreed export is 6.4kW - that gives me plenty of options if the import rate looks cheap I could dump some battery and when solar is ticking over nicely (Had a record yesterday with 7.8kW generated by my 575w panels.), although wont have much of that until I get my next 4x575w panels in place.
It feels like. along time coming but all done now.. just need to get the new panels sorted before we run out of summer ^^

If you are away and using the Dashboard or Remote Console be very careful not to switch the installation off completely by mistake. Have had some nervous moments with this (though not actually done it). There are several ways it can happen, some but not all have a confirmation screen. In particular (undocumented) do not switch from Inverter Only directy to Charger Only or vv, you need to go through On in between or it will crash out and you have no way back from there!Tay wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 7:16 pm A quick update.

"Inverter Only" mode is useful though if you want to isolate from the grid as it also opens the grid relay so is a way of guaranteeing there is no current e.g. if you are expecting a meter change while you are not there.
Enjoy your new Victron system, hours of fun for all the family!
