Back to the CT clamp issue.

I don't think the 2x CT clamps will work after a Google. Something about the resistors inside the CT clamps will half the reading if join the two up together. :whako-teapot:

So I'm trying to find a CT clamp 100A/50mA 2000:1 with an opening of at least 20mm to fit a 35mm² (main live) and 10mm² (EV live) cable inside.

All the standard ones seem to be 16mm openings what I can find.

I was wondering why DC temps shoot up on my inverter when pushing the DC hard:

Scissors out and now fan suddenly works miraculously now that a cable tie isn't jammed between it stopping it working!!

Was that your fault or an installer ?
19.6kW PV > 114MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 34MWh generated
7 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
90kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 530 m3

Damn, that must have been annoying when you found it.

I kinda want to laugh at the silliness, but not sure it's actually funny. So I'll go 'mid-road' with a
8.7kWp PV [2.12kWp SSW + 4.61kWp ESE PV + 2.0kWp WNW PV]
Two BEV's.
Two small A2A heatpumps.
20kWh Battery storage.

OPCT24AL 2000:1 100A/50mA 24mm aperture CT clamp turned up from AliExpress... £9.49.

Image

Replaced the original CT clamp tonight. Wired up to the wago connector that had extended the CT clamp with two twisted paired cat6.
Managed to get both the main live tail in and the reversed EV live into it! More difficult than I thought, not much play on the cables.

Image

CT clamp is working as the other one did, according to the inverter.

Will test if it hides the EV when charges tomorrow (don't want to lose the 3.5p/kWh half price offer from Octopus if I plug the EV in to test)

EV plugged in... Inverter doesn't see the load and doesn't drain the batteries to charge! :praise:

The botch wins again :)
