Over 63% of UK electricity is from wind+solar+nuclear at this moment; even more if we include imports from France and Norway. Actually it’s over 75% with them included.
It’s very windy in Derbyshire. I’ve just been out with a hand held wind toy.

Getting close to a record again with 3GW more of demand to come.

I've seen 21.1GW on Energy numbers a couple of times this afternoon which equals the highest I have ever seen.

Highest from the archived data from Gridwatch is 16.987 GW from 15:35 today which is the highest ever.
EDIT - Correction, GarethC is correct, 17.042 GW at 16:11.

21.3 GW now on Energy Numbers.

Noticed just now that import from France is at 3.5GW - I'm assuming good wind across the EU as well? Or have they switched on some more nuclear plants?!

Wind has also now gone up again to 21.4GW (16.30pm)

IIRC from here EDF were expecting to get about 3.3GW back online just after Christmas with more in February - perhaps they managed it ?

We never got out of the gloom here and solar has not budged off 0.

Wind has been consistent here for the last 36 hours - this could be the year I mess with a micro WT, yes it might only pull in 50 to 100 watts by all that I have read, but thats a reasonable background trickle, most of our wind is between SSW and NNW.

It will be nice to see the old record toppled.
