My meter shows physical export on the lcd screen but nothing on app. Then again I gave no export contract with Octopus.

Re: Storage Heaters
Checked this morning and we used
Feb 21 E650kWh G1980kWh =2,340kWh power
Feb 22 E1796kWh G165kWh = 1,961kWh power
A difference of 379kWh. The PV arrays pulled in an extra 41kWh on a month to month basis. This leaves a 338kWh improvement over last year. Can't attribute it solely but reckon its a combination of the efficiency of the electric via gas and a better knowledge of the WS and its modification.
Comparing Feb 18 to Feb 22 and the difference in power used is 2,750kWh. I am happy with that!

Re: Storage Heaters
My obsession with storage heaters continues!
Scored two 850W storage heaters and a 1.7kW storage heater along with two 1kW dimplex panel heaters. The cost?..A tenner!

Re: Storage Heaters
Having a re-jig of the heaters we already have in place and adding these to the mix. 1 850W in a room off the big lounge downstairs (where wbs1 is). 1 850W in SWMBO dressing room upstairs. 1 1.7kW heater in a big bedroom cupboard downstairs. That's a lot of extra oomph for the off months. I particularly like these 850W units as they are compact, throw off a huge amount of heat and are small enough in load that I can bring one or so on via hive if the battery is full and there's a bit left over to the day. They can also be squeezed into unobtrusive spots yet just work away. Will start on this wee work schedule tomorrow I .
Leaving the cabin as is with WBS2 as the sole source (almost, we have a small.air blower heater down there). Kipping in cabin.last night was great. Woke to birdsong and fresh air. Just like being a lad away 🏕.

Nice to see you testing the crash space for your forthcoming 2023 Camelot covid survival party & renewables project exhibition / chilli eat-off..hope there's a spoons nearby joe.

How many projects have you lined up now on your to do list "Shiva" !?

Re: Storage Heaters
coupleafew Gus! I am fully submerged now in the RE lifestyle. Life is immensely satisfying and I find and see value in the simplest of things. I had NO idea where this would take me. It's a trip.Mr Gus wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 5:34 pm Nice to see you testing the crash space for your forthcoming 2023 Camelot covid survival party & renewables project exhibition / chilli eat-off..hope there's a spoons nearby joe.

Example, batch cooked a chicken balti this morning, left it slow solar cooking on the induction hob for 8 hours. It's now on the WBS as is the water pre heating for the rice. The nan breads are ready in the air fryer. Every bit of this has zero grid impact and forget about gas. I am SO proud of this way of being, untouched by politics or the ebb & flow of the wider world. Game on!

Re: Storage Heaters
Glad it is working well for you, spoken with all sincerity.
Now, beyond this place of interested active seekers of change, & dreamers, how can it be got out there to the wider not so capable public succesfully? (Be it neighbours or national) !? ..sounds like you need to start making some noise with those well feathered wings I'm yours, ..providing *the real boss* in the house renewable homestead would be agreeable too.
We already know you've only got a face for radio matey! ..so be it.

Re: Storage Heaters
To be honest, this place and a few reasonably placed words are kind of my limit. I'd like to imagine that I have helped a few PV systems and also solar thermal systems and maybe a battery or two get off the ground. I don't push any of it but will happily name drop a company or idea if asked and if it takes root that's excellent. I'm known more now for my RE stuff than being Joe the offshore Bas**rd (which is nice). For the population overall I return to the adage 'can lead a horse etc'.Mr Gus wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 10:17 pm Glad it is working well for you, spoken with all sincerity.

If they know about climate change and know about toxicity inflicted on ourselves AND know about being puppets on strings to companies with no regard for them and yet still choose to do nothing then who am I to waste my fleeting time on them? Sad though that thought is. I like to imagine that I am fortunate in being a small cog in a word of mouth slow-moving pyramid scheme to the good. I'd like it to move faster though.
Body from Baywatch, face from crimewatch as we used to say Gus.

Re: Storage Heaters
There is an upsurge of interest (& panic, obviously) a guy who popped up on my damned google algo-feed on my phone put together a starter kit of solar, a couple of small batts & a cheapo Chinese usb inverter & got several 100,000 views in a few days (he had to do a quick follow up of where he went wrong for safeties sake) ..but it shows folk are seeking, but yes a video on YouTube also gets plenty of last sunglasses asking to be spoon fed.
