I may have to move to a 3 phase supply, with a 3rd EV due, hopefully next week. Hopefully not as SWMBO is hoping to retire next May so the 60 mile commute will be no longer required, albeit currently 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.

That’s EV battery capacity.

A single-phase supply should be plenty for 3x BEVs unless all 3 cars are putting in mega milages! 2x 16A charging points or one 32A that flexes charge-rate to ensure max demand doesn't exceed your cutout fuse and one dumb 16A should do you.

A bit tricky if you're on Octopus Go and wand to squeeze it all into a a 4hr cheap slot, but in the real world still doable, particularly if you can daytime charge on solar-generated electric.

I already know what to expect as SHMBO was on furlough for over a year during COVID.

A little more energy used, but its the water usage, it was insane. And its not the loo as that uses the underground river water. Its more washing, more cleaning of house with insane quantities of hot water.

And if I make suggestions to reduce usage,

I’ve just had the a similar discussion about heating the hot water without a cheap slot. Convenience always before cost, but that’s why you have a warm house because I plan ahead and wouldn’t heat the water using peak leccy…….when I can plan and get it 75% cheaper

These are certainly.the days to test ones battery capacity and those extra slots make a huge difference. We get away with it all each day but tbh we are often in the 20% soc range before we can top up again. I could easily sling another 15kWh of battery at the wall.

I don't even try anymore on the hot water. I swear Aquaman must be living here when I'm out.
