Idiot's guide to a self build battery
Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery
I don't know if it's been posted before, but in case anyone else is thinking about placing the cells on their sides, the way Joeboy has done it is the best way:
38m Barge, Solar (10.6 kWp), 26 kWh of LFP, Victron Quattro 8 kVA, CerboGX, 3,500L STP, 57kVa Perkins

Back to work after the Chinese New Year holiday now
And already arrange the battery cells now
Will send video before ships out
By the way , the battery can be put upside down now
Xiaomi SU7 car's battery is putting upside down
It will be ok for the cells
Thanks all

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery
Thank you Colin, much appreciated . We had a meeting in my garage yesterday. I think it's fair to say we are all quite excited !Colin Deng wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 6:16 am Back to work after the Chinese New Year holiday now

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery
A nice wee morning, spaced out and strengthened the board then stained and fixed to wall. All from stuff lieing about from other projects.
Spent about a ton on material for the frame build, clamping rods, cables ordered too. Just to buy a 1/2 sheet of engineered board and can get going with that.
Isolation switches arrived today too.
Had a decent amount of bits & Bob's left over from the last 2022 pack that will be used on this pack, i like that.

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery
Well thats my two new Us500's added to the stack, head height now and bloody heavy to lift that high
Hope for a bit of sun tomorrow to charge the new ones SOC to 100%, then switch back and do the same with the existing ones and then link them up.
Oh and better change the signiture.

To keep the info flowing. Selina Li at Deriy just got back to me 23 days late and more expensive than Colin Deng.
Worth bearing in mind if the reader has a battery order planned.
