Then I guess the sellers didn't declare the true prices, or customs missed them

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery
Below £135 the seller is supposed to collect the VAT and send it to UK, above £135 VAT is not collected by seller but is instead collected at entry into UK based on declared value. So if you buy goods over £135 but the declared value is accidentally declared at below £135 then no VAT is taken at entry into UK as it's assumed it's been already paid.

Looks like 25th April at Felixstowe. Would hope for around 10 days after to be stacked in my garage.

Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery
I have my JK BMS and am wondering how I am going to connect the balance leads to the batteries. It's a 2A active balancer and the leads are super thin and pre tinned bare wire. Rather than drilling a hole in the busbar to add another connection point it looks like most of the time there is enough room to screw a second M6 nut on top of the main busbar connections. I was therefore thinking of hooking the wire up to an M6 connector and placing it above the busbar bolt. However, how do I get the wire into the M6 connector? Is soldering them on acceptable? I've read a lot about wire failure when you do this. Its for a static project so there shouldn't be any mechanical vibration.
Re: Idiot's guide to a self build battery
I'd have to see the difference in gauge but nothing wrong with stripping back more insulation and folding a wire back on itself and then doing a test crimp onto an M6 eyelet? That is a repeatable work even with a counted twist in the foldback to bulk up. . Solder blob, going on my own skills.... not so much.Andy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 5:24 pm I have my JK BMS and am wondering how I am going to connect the balance leads to the batteries. Looks like Euro data is dialed in.
