I'm getting a free Octopus Mini

No, unfortunately its not an EV.

Its (I think) a device which connects to my smart meter and transmits live info to my phone from my Smart meter. Ehhhh ?, my SMA Sunny Portal does a similar thing already.

Apparently, I am on their early access list, although I don't recall actually signing up for one. I swear both SWMBO and I seem to have had a similar brain attack since having COVID. I guess its another toy to play with.

There's a free app called Hugo which allows you to see and analyse your smart meter data on your phone. Not live data though. Has data from the day before. I still find it really useful.

I hate to say this, but I misread the title of this thread twice. Both times I read the "M" as a "W" . . .

I wasn't even sure if octopii had them (the answer is that they don't, but they do have a special tentacle, often with a detachable, free swimming, bit).

Sounds like any early access product would get a lot of useful feedback if their staff visited this place.

The M looked fine to me until I read your post, now I only see it as a W.

Cute :) Is it similar to the Hildebrand Glow IHD thingy? Electricity readings every 10 seconds and gas every 30 minutes I think.. been considering getting one because they do MQTT, very flexible.

I think that BigClivedotcom would approve of the colour . . .

Not sure that I could face having something that colour anywhere that it could be seen, but being able to get data from it via MQTT would make it integrate easily with Home Assistant.
