We live next to a main A road, 60 mph speed limit, and yesterday, early evening, while I was sat at the computer I heard an almighty bang which I recognised straight away as an accident. (We are used to it).
I immediately called the emergency services and went out to find out what had happened. A van was overtaking a lorry while a car was coming the other way. The van driver told me straight away what he was doing. It's on a blind bend!! Lord knows what the closing speeds must have been but amazingly no one was injured. Both the car and van ended up in our garden, both missing a front wheel and right offs! The lorry stopped 100 yards down the road with a ripped curtain side and and a damaged tyre and wheel.
Our CCTV caught it and it isn't half impressive. It took the police 45 minutes to arrive though!!

Re: Idiot Drivers.
45 mins? surprised they came out at all these days.
After stabilising a crash victims neck & working their stuck seat loose (2 nurses & myself) prior to police eventually turning up, we were instructed "you can go now" (several crash sites when just passing) by rude ingrate coppers, hope you have a better lot in attendance round your way.
& watch out for them pinning extra payments onto your council tax (a dodgy move that often go's unoticed) come april. "police funding gap" ..as exp!ained here

Re: Idiot Drivers.
What a muppet!!
On a positive note, great to see that modern vehicles are so good at protecting the occupants (although wonder if the van driver had a large spike on his steering wheel, would he drive more sensibly? - probably not )
