Anyone a member of a driveway charging scheme?

Wondering how it is working out for you, location & frequency of use, some companies with apps are charging 12% for adding your pin to their map, wondering what the score is with zap map in this sort of registry.

A village club (sports / social) is considering siting a charger as a stop off "charge & a pint" with either a 7 or 22kWh unit to be considered (if it got off the ground) which could be an option for folk without a driveway to obtain a reasonably quick juice up, the club as a village hub has a lot of late afternoon through evening clubs, new estate, built & planned.

We were stopped whilst out shopping & randomly asked about bevs, charging habits etc (as you do) so it came to light.
As they have proper floodlighting for their sportsground, would it be appropriate to to assume they have 3 phase availability to take 22kWh chargers?

I explained that not all EV's are capable of taking higher levels of charge, so it wasn't a fix all but offered more speed of throughput potentially, & more so if slots were booked according to draw capability if organised with a bit of thought (minimal waiting, should a queue ever occur)

There are several windfarm trusts available to soften the cost incurred, via potential community funding

I suggested they look at the Easee one with it's ability to chain & rfid card logged access as a starter.

Anything to get in the way of operating on a low profit margin ? (5p per kWh or simply a connection fee) to contribute towards future servicing / parts)

I signed up to Co-Charge with the idea of maybe being able to use it back home (as I don't have a driveway) but there are so few others in the area offering it, and those that are are charging a lot, it hasn't been worth it. Yet.

When taking our grandson to a village playground/sports and community centre during half term I spotted a PV array on the roof. Then later a couple of Pod Point charging units up at the far end. So four positions of 7 kW's each presumably and at 35p kWh. Apart from our Leaf a Tesla was also in the car park, neither of us were charging but if I'd spotted them upon arrival I''d certainly have plugged in as was down around 30% mark. For a small village of only a few hundred soles I was impressed how forward looking the community there appeared to be.
I liked the idea of offering others without a driveway the opportunity to charge from our unit and signed up with CoCharger and then Zapmap at the beginning of last year. As yet still to receive an enquiry from anyone via Zapmap but equally have not had any charges levied purely for the listing. We live in a coastal resort often frequented by daytrippers and while only having a 7kW charger available then if time isn't of the essence it shouldn't raise an issue for many. Plus they'd get "free" parking for duration of the charge!
I have one regular chargee via CoCharger who owns a hybrid, so not too demanding upon our system. He charges once or twice per a week and the App handles everything, it works fine for both of us. With excess of solar generation in summer and keen to promote the use of EV's in general then I offer a far better rate than commercial units who of course have to turn over a profit.
When staying in Bournemouth for a weekend last year many of the commercial units were either out of action or placed where parking charges on top applied so resorted to CoCharger and found a guy in a similar position to myself. He was abroad at the time and managed the charger remotely. Isn't technology wonderful. :D

Great to hear a positive story from someone hosting and using Co-Charge - that is cool.

Thanks for the write-up, seems to be a needed yet neglected area, any more examples please add..

I get quite a few requests via ZapMap to use my charger, usually during the summer/holiday periods as the village has a lot of holiday lets but no chargers other than mine!

Works fine; I get them to pay via PayPal.
