Solid-state storage of hydrogen.

There’s a lot of waffle at the start but it’s very interesting that hydrogen can be stored in a compact form without compression.

Cool, I seem to remember something similar with Fullerene bucky-tubes and some time back?? H2 storage at high energy density without the high pressure is certainly a useful piece of the jigsaw.

Sounds like a nightmare, too many mechanical moving parts and no info about the efficiency of charging and discharging the discs or rolls of film. Makes me think about the mechanics of a VHS video recorder or a CD stack changer. Its all very well saying its the same energy density as a 10,000 psi tank, but that's something that's incredibly simple and works.
16.9kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 25MWh generated

The riversimple Hydrogen 3 wheeled had a light body & small hydrogen cylinder (less than the average size fire extinguisher as I recall) ..not seen this video, however I remember being impressed at the thought of scaling it up to a regular design vehicle, esp when compared to a regular petrol tank.

How much more complex does it need making & why?

Petrol can cause explosions and quite rapid fires. Lithium ion batteries can also go on fire and burn its umpteen kWh of chemical energy, sometimes over an extended period.

What are the uncontrolled fire risks of this technology. Just wondering.
