A nigh on empty train as well...

Try & do the right thing & use "public transport"
Get told "you'll be ejected from the train if you don't get rid of it" complete W@n_ers
Doubtless will take a car next time! (slow hand clap at effwit GWR)
(Daughter went down via train a few weeks ago to a beach from Plymouth to scope out bringing her wetsuit & bodyboard, anticipate she would likely experience the same crap based on this)

I was not wholly convinced by that TIk Tok video as we only seemed to have his word for it, but,

I'm speechless, I've taken my paraglider by train before which is bigger and heavier but it just looks like a large rucksack.

Re: A prime example of why GWR trains is utterly crap
It was a tiny board, shouldn't have been any problem just sitting next to it on an empty train.
GWR i've had problems with their bike storage, "if it doesn't fit it can't go on" (& no-one ansewering beforehand as to how it could be stored , (I had wheel width dims ready, they wouldn't have had clue if they'd deigned to answer the phone.
The bike rack was for a maximum of 2 (if capable of being interlocked) no adjustment, or securing tie & width was not big enough to accept modern wider (marginally) tyres ..I had to let my tyre down to get it to jam (or it was off as the guard said TOO many times over) ..close call.
The premise being if you jam it in it shouldn't come out "fingers crossed" ..how lucky that I tend to carry backpack spares more often than not & so a bit of elastic or hook & loop / bandage to utilise
Hardly helpful service, & bloody bad design for something likely to be in public service for 40 odd years.
