Grid-scale Storage

Any news worthy story. Good things to watch at the Cinema, Theatre, on TV or have you read a good book lately?

Grid-scale Storage

#1

Post by AE-NMidlands »

A while ago we discussed a system which compressed air in an underwater sphere by pumping water in, then recovered the power by releasing the water through the turbine.
I have been trying to find the details of it, but all I can find is a more recent experimental one which just lets water run in to generate.
http://euanmearns.com/a-review-of-under ... r-storage/ shows an example, and its rigid sphere version seems more limited to me than the one which would work the other way round.
Can anyone help me find the older one - which would obviously need stronger spheres but wouldn't rely on being used at great depth.
Thanks
