1960s EnerPhit retrofit

#1

Post by wookey »

I've been retrofitting my detached 1960s house since I moved in in 2007. It's mostly done now, although it's still a mess and there are a few significant things still to do (floors, DHW, UFH, heat pump, and an awful lot of 'tidying up the edges').
Quite a lot of that was discussed on the Navitron forum and Green Building forum. I also have a largely-uncompleted website documenting it which I do plan to actually put a lot of drawings and explanation on erm 'sometime'. http://wookware.org/house/retrofit/

In the meantime I did a talk for our local 'Cambridge Ecohomes' project which shows people round retrofits, either physically or virtually. Some of you will find it interesting I'm sure:

or http://wookware.org/talks/OEH2021/OEH-wookey.mp4 if you don't want to tell Google what you are watching. The slides are there too.

Essentially this shows that even Enerphit retrofit doesn't have to cost a hundred grand. It can be done at quite reasonable cost if you don't mind some DIY.
