BTW, a wash cycle costs 5 miles of range.

Bummer. But without the panels more carbon-emitting electricity production might have made the storm worse, and caused more damage and harm than this one.
Well, what else was I going to do? It has worked out well!
Its funny Nowty, after all the mods and running to improve, improve its been quite nice to slow down and enjoy the combined arrays and see them kick in during the shoulder months to a useable level. I did a hot disconnect of the 4th string today once we had house shading on the panels and sure enough the wattage at the Victron dropped which nicely confirmed yourself & Stinsy back on page 1 & 2, parallel independent strings.Joeboy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 4:00 pm I am giving some thought (only a little) to taking the 4th String and mounting it on a movable frame on the deck. Thinking brakeable wheels and a light wooden frame or maybe engineered ply to keep the strength but lose some weight. We are 10.30 hrs before full sun and begin to lose it due to house shading at about 15.30 hrs..

Thanks Moxi, just chucking it out there to see if it sticks!Moxi wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 6:38 pm JB
Exactly what I have and brilliant other than you have to make sure it’s well anchored in windy weather otherwise you may find it at the other end of the garden - if you only need to move along a single axis you could try two channels one on the deck the other along the top of the bar to mount trolleys to slide the panels in and out across the deck ?
