I don't have this problem.

I run under control during the four hour Octopus Go period from a Pi but Auto for the remaining time and it works fine without any pauses.

I do have a clamp on my PV feed though and the firmware is 2.something.

As soon as I connected the CT PV clamp to my PV inverter the issue disappears. It now charges without any cycling.

I suspect the software is detecting the "export > PV generation" condition as an error condition (even though we all think the PV clamp is only for logging), hence the cycling.
Well spotted. I can confirm installing the CTpv on a PV circuit stops the 'check charge' cycle. This is something Sofar Technical support failed to disclose! Just installing the CT but not clamping a wire has no effect.

Tested on V3.30.
