Read Tinbum's post carefully, you will end up with a RJ45 on one end and a USB on the other.

One 9 Way D type socket end will go into the bin.

The 9 way D type plug and socket will just plug into each other back to back if I'm reading it right.

Yes. You do need to check which 3 cores you need to connect into the RJ45- they are different depending which half of the modem cable you use. I do have the colours noted down somewhere.

By a strange coincidence, the ebay cable Lincs Robert first posted about had already been purchased by myself although had not arrived at that point. I would have followed Tinbum's advice if I had not already ordered it but having had it delivered today and using it, I was kind of glad I bought the off the shelf kit as I'm sure its saved me quite some time and swearing.

The software and a foolproof guide comes with it on a USB stick and a console adapter is supplied so I can use it on both my US2000B's and my latest US2000C's.



Having replaced my master battery for a US2000C in the last couple of days, I now have a spare US2000 Plus battery to offload so it was quite timely to test the device on it.



All cells nicely balanced.



5 years old, 271 cycles and SOH still at 99%, the batteries at Nowty Towers do have an easy life being in such a large battery pack.

In a former life I was a field engineer and used to spend all day working with problematic serial interfaces. There’s a fail safe process which if followed gives success

That’s really interesting. I’m intrigued that a battery which is 5 years old would have such a low number of cycles though. This prompts a question as to exactly what is a cycle? Answers on a postcard ?
