Saving session(s) looking even more likely next week, maybe even a couple of live sessions.

It does this more at 5-7pm than any other time slot…..
No idea why
Don't put anything there you could run on cheap periods. For myself .34p is only giving a 10th return. £2.25 per kW won't recover expensive period losses.

However if you were going to run it in the expensive period any way go for it.

Only doing it with IOG off peak schedules, hence the Tesla comment as octopus is controlling the charging. :O:

The octopus has not given me any extra cheap slots until 6:30pm for the past couple of nights but tonight the Octopus is playing ball. ;)
Tonight's baseline boost will last until at least the 18th of Jan.

Interesting grid day today,

Practically nothing coming in on the interconnectors which is very unusual.
We have one nuke station out due to breakdown (Heysham 1).
We are burning coal in the last operational power station.
Todays demand is running about 2GW ahead of forecast and there is another 2GW to the peak.
The saving grace is the wind is at 11GW as we only have about 5GW of headroom left on the gas as its currently at 23GW.

The forecast generating surplus later in the week is very low, hopefully a couple of saving sessions are on the cards this and next week.

I’ll try for some cheap slots tomorrow. Today I have Son2’s football training and Wed is Son1’s football training. Great for saving energy during a SS, not great for rinsing in anticipation of one!

OMG, I have just found the best node-red flow ever. This scans your account and auto enrols you into a savings event. You can then hook any automation to it as you so desire. I had asked Octopus help for a REST API but it is all there in the GraphQL access point.

I’ve had a bad couple of days trying to increase our baseline. Thu/fri Tesla wasn’t at home due to crashes on A1 and being out.
Decent slot at 5pm but octopus stopped charging at 17:26 and re-started at 17:30
Edit: stopped again at 17:36 I’ve had these not re-start again in the past

I'm cheapslot boosting tonight for the 4th time so my working day 5pm to 6pm baseline is now around 6.7kW.

I’m probably below 2kWh on a 60min SS. Will work I. It tomorrow, can add 1kWh to my baseline with a well-executed boost…
