While Ripple may have disappointed some, their responses to me have always been timely, informative and courteous. Unlike those posted by some members on the community page. Possibly due to them being more used to the language and phraseology used on social media websites. I'm hoping it doesn't descend further.
If you are happy with the personal touch to date I am genuinely glad for you. I have since their earliest days felt a discord between their 'Happy We're all in it together, please send money approach' and their actual communication with investors once they are in.

Best way I can describe it is a tardiness to convey the downside in natural progress/speed bumps while instead letting loose in compensation with lots of optimistic misdirective bumff aimed at a lowest common denominator.

I see an almost pyramid selling designed cynicism rather than an RE forward thinking investor based value to grow from word of mouth.

Don't get me wrong, I'll take the money as long it survives but as just one more investment with no real 'soul'.

I think they could have been SO much more as an alive co-op corp at no real cost to themselves. But they're not and they are showing alarming signs of censorship at any criticism. Not a good trend.
Oh dear, if they are really that bad then it would appear there is room for a new kid on the block.
Quite an opportunity for someone of an enterprising nature. How about it. :praise:
Now off to Skye. :)

Enjoy the day. I've done all the doing I need to in getting power to where it can be used.

Hopefully Ripple model will be improved on in the next version that comes to market and I'll be an investor in that.

Weather is truly awful again here today, 40mph gusts and moderate rain allllll day again  as I write 0.577kW incoming from the house PV going to the batteries, house load managed by the house PV around 450Watts and 0.736kW from KH all in all an acceptable result for a grim day more akin to late autumn and best of all puppy heater asleep on my bare feet - priceless and cosy warm!!

I was never one to watch the Ripple coms too much and having lived through a build commission and operation I would suggest they have scope for significant improvement - time will tell if they stay true to the core values but in the mean time they could do well to discuss customer support with the Octopus team who seem better than most - most of the time.

I think we had a taste of that up here Maxi. Left Inverness with a vibrant Rainbow shining against a cloudy backdrop before rain moved in a few miles out on the road to Skye. Gave the car a wash at least, but thankfully it eased as we approached the crossing over. By the time we reached Seumus' Bar at Sligachan it had cleared completely revealing it's spectacular surroundings. Two pints of their brewery's Red Ale, one each, slid down a treat. I guess at £6 a pint it should have done, but got to support any local isolated economy in these difficult times. Lunch was equally enjoyable, sat admiring the view through the picture window. Spent an hour or so wandering around the immediate area taking in the Old Bridge, the turbulent torrents of Sligachan following the earlier storm and impressive statues of Collie and Mackenzie. Covered a 106 miles on way there and similar back along the Nor west bank of Lochness to the trustee Superchargers in Inverness town centre that we've come to rely on while here. It's tremendously reassuring have them to go back too each day in readiness for the morrow.
Must have been at a higher elevation on Skye as the journey back returned a meagre 182 Wh's/m on second leg as opposed 202 on way out.

Vacated Inverness yesterday in order to visit the Cruachan pumped Hydro station taking in the well organised and hugely informative tour. Started in '59 opened in '65 with only one functioning turbine, completed in '67 with all four then commisioned. The tunnels blasted through black granite requiring 32lbs dynamite for each hard won cu metre of space. The Tunnel Tigers could earn considerable sums, perhaps 100x average back then but with no H&S risks were high. Over the seven years 15 lost their lives.
On the afternoon we were there the guide pointed out a digital screen showing current energy price on the grid at -£15/MWhr. Two of the turbines were working full bore pumping water back up at 120MW's each.
I thanked the guide for mentioning Edward MacColl. At the close he came up to show us his tartan waistcoat explaining that it was the clan MacColl tartan modified to include an additional 15 stitches or threads. One for each of those who gave their lives during the course of it's construction.
As @dan-b posted earlier plans are afoot to add another 600MW's utilising the same reservoirs, increasing capacity to over a GW for seven hours as opposed 440MW's for 16 hours currently.
