Corner turned
Re: Corner turned
What a fabulous result ! It has to be one of the drivers for us all to hit the big six with as many 0 metered days as practical doesn't it

Re: Corner turned
I joined octopus 21st March and managed 2.38kwh for the week.
They have my DD setup for a 6000kwh yearly use .
That being said my inverter reported zero grid import, so my meter for some reason is recording a tiny daily import. (Maybe some reactive power thing as the inverter tries to match grid frequency?).

Re: Corner turned
I see you have dropped under the North Easterly cold front there JB
Not so bad down here in North Wales as yet but I have brought some logs in ready for later when it does arrive, can't complain though as we have had over 5 days of consecutive sunshine and double digit kWh harvesting, most often around the 16kWh point and its still March!
This will probably be the first WS burn in around two weeks.

Every day here Moxi, although we had a few cracking days when I didn't fire up until 16.00hrs. We've had my fave weather today, blazing sunshine while the flakes are still falling, love that!Moxi wrote: ↑Wed Mar 30, 2022 8:47 am I see you have dropped under the North Easterly cold front there JB

Re: Corner turned
We have hazy sunshine - sufficient to allow us to harvest around 600 to 1,000 Wp through the morning so the WS is still off and the diverter has the electric radiator and tube heaters applying a gentle heat - air temperature outside in single figures today - a sharp drop from the 18 and 20 degrees of last week ! As we move to the afternoon the haze is thinning more and the solar harvest is fluctuating between 900 and 1800Wp
Tube heaters are on around the house trickling some heat into the fabric of the cottage.

Re: Corner turned
I'd like to see a tube heater, not heard of that? Sun is splitting the skies here now and seeing peaks of 5.2kW coming in. A good afternoon for woodsplitting!Moxi wrote: ↑Wed Mar 30, 2022 12:41 pm We have hazy sunshine - sufficient to allow us to harvest around 600 to 1,000 Wp through the morning so the WS is still off and the diverter has the electric radiator and tube heaters applying a gentle heat - air temperature outside in single figures today - a sharp drop from the 18 and 20 degrees of last week ! Re: Corner turned
Sometimes referred to as a green house heater. I have a very small one (60w) under my growatt battery
85no 58mm solar thermal tubes, 28.5Kw PV, 3x Sunny Island 5048, 2795 Ah (135kWh) (c20) Rolls batteries 48v, 8kWh Growatt storage, 22 x US3000C Pylontech, Sofar ME3000's, Brosley wood burner and 250lt DHW
Re: Corner turned
Cheers Tinbum, I'll have a Google. One of those crazy days when I am glad we have batteries to catch all the wildly oscillating PV. 5.5kW to 1.3kW in seconds then back up again!

JB, I have bought from a variety of places including tool station and screw fix and amazon depending on special offers - i like them as you can go from 20 watts up and they fit behind furniture and in small nooks easily - coupled to a smart socket and you have infinite load control lol.
We tend to fit them in corners where furniture creates a cold spot for the black mold to spawn as it encourages air changes and keeps the walls aired
