Re: Corner turned
That's good, thanks Nowty.
Hopefully an installer will be able to understand and accept this philosophy? I've already had 1 say "Thanks but no thanks, that's not what we do!"
(I didn't want his Tesla- or equivalent-only battery option!)

Re: Corner turned
AE that’s strange I also had a Tesla vendor up to look at the annex roof for solar and batteries - I explained I didn’t want Tesla batteries and already had pylontech. He carried on looking and said he would quote but he never did actually quote or even reply to my emails asking if he was still interested.
I think there’s a lot of companies out there very busy all of a sudden and finding the good ones willing to install what you want rather than those intent on installing what’s best for them is difficult.
Persevere though as I have, I think, managed to find a good one here so they are around.

Re: Corner turned
For my original install I used a mob called first4solar. They did a remote survey, rocked up and fitted. Lots of choice.AE-NMidlands wrote: ↑Sat Apr 09, 2022 11:01 pm That's good, thanks Nowty.

Thanks, I will. Even if they don't work round here they might have a contact who thinks the same way.Joeboy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 9:55 amFor my original install I used a mob called first4solar. Re: Corner turned
They are national and based in Wakefield. I really liked the remote survey aspect and working with me on the spec. At that point I had literally no clue! The price was good too in comparison to my local quotes and handy to have to test others against.AE-NMidlands wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 10:56 amThanks, I will. Re: Corner turned
Going to be a record solar day for this year so far here at Nowty Towers, wall to wall sunshine, 43 kWh generated so far and still over 7 kW coming in.
One car charger on full power and SWMBO has a 50 degree washing load running. I need to run the home battery down to create empty space to fill up again as tomorrow's forecast is similar.
Hot water tank hot and its too warm to run the heating.

I'm afraid the sea breezes bring it onshore in your part of the woods.
