Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Does WT1 have a data feed loss or outage again ?
I guess we will find out at around 9am Monday morning.

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Back up and running at 05.45hrs Mon when i looked (Wee Charlie now sleeps in a tent at the base of WT). Can't see any changes in data supplied (cumulative counts) but at least yesterday the WT was cranking and it was only the datafeed. Irksome though that is.
Maybe the website maintenance last night was to repair the loss of data?
Even with a total shutdown day and also a very poor day (2.4kWh) in the last block of 7 days we managed 144kWh into the VB. The potential here is awe-inspiring for later in the year if they can get beyond the niggles.
I'd just like to see a few days of strong wind and no furl or trip out or data drop out. Would show progress.

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Had a quick look at our home use while we've been at the apartment. Even with son using the house at weekends snd evenings we have only bought 8kWh of power in three weeks. All of that can attributed to spool up time of the hybrid inverter for HWT on demand by myself or moving the easeeone EV charge rate about.
Wt1 has put out a max of 50.2kWh for us with a minimum of 0kWh across the three weeks. I am hoping we put 300kWh+ into the VB in the time we have been away.
Just thinking about this now. We have at current Octopus Go renewal rate vs Ripple contract a 22% top up on our input to VB. 300kWh in is actually worth 366kWh if you took it out in power.
My current Go contract gives me a 43% top up on those kWh's meaning my 300(notional)kWh input to VB is actually worth 429kWh's bought in the 5hr slot before 30th Dec. That's pretty trippy....

Oh, thought u were in there. Uno momento!
'On with your build!
There'll be lots of activity down at the Kirk Hill site next week. We will deploy a team to complete the ground investigation surveys. The results of those surveys will inform the detailed design of the civil works. The ecologist has also been conducting further walk over surveys to confirm the baseline hasn't changed from what has been previously recorded and informed the environmental impact assessment. No substantive change has been found.'
Quite a large associated explanation on the funding for the project too but unwieldy via phone.

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Although they explained the general principle quite well, I was disappointed that no specific info was given about the financial part, apart from the loan amount and that a long term PPA will pay for it.
I want to know what the interest rate is, is it fixed rate ?, based on LIBOR+x ?, etc, and what the term (length) is.
Who takes the risk if there is a shortfall ?, etc.
My other renewable investments give this information about their credit facilities.

Thanks.
The pc is on the fritz, so I have a phone on me & a kindle, the laptop is a pain & I like to keep things separate, & Google guessing.

Together, the co-operative and Bruntwood still own the whole wind farm. The bank doesn’t own a share of the wind farm. Their 30% will have a separate contract (long term power purchase agreement, or “PPA”) for its share of the wind farm’s generation. The great news is, once the finance facility is repaid, the revenue from the sales of that 30% excess power will be received as additional returns to the co-op and Bruntwood.
This arrangement provides certainty over revenue to the bank and will not affect members’ returns.

9.9mph at GF v's 16.8mph at Turnberry today. Turnberry is consistently windier. Couldn't be earlier days but this is going to be epic, 8 of 2.35MW WT's.
I wonder if they will get 1 or 2 up and running while the other 6 are going up?
Strange that the percentage owned by the three entitues adds up to 101%?
