Its all about keeping the little people in their place, always has been.

The problem is government needs revenue and they are late realising that the traditional model is changing faster than their new revenue generating schemes hence we see ham fisted and badly thought out taxation schemes - just wait till they get their heads around the mass migration to EV;s

Generation is ramping up nicely today. A shame they can't seem to sort the failed trailing day update on Generation automatically. That fault only started after they shutdown to upgrade? Today will be a good test of no dno curtailment. Eyes peeled and fingers crossed!

I enjoyed the Ed Milliband visit video on the site as we could see the blades turning.

Also found this interesting snippet in an old article in The Scotsman newspaper 'the Scottish Government said it was looking double its onshore wind capacity by 2030. A draft policy statement outlined plans to add eight to 12 gigawatts (GW) of capacity compared to current levels of 8.4GW.

Repowering of existing projects that are reaching the end of their operating life and potentially installing more powerful turbines is expected to play a significant role in increasing capacity.'

Come the end of life time it should be a turbine upgrade.

Proposals to tax income from other electricity producers such as some older windfarms and nuclear plants which have also seen windfall gains have been shelved.

well, yesterday was an outstanding 38.66kWh at GFWT1 and today is indeed looking like the turbine is running at full tilt. Great to see no obvious curtailment going on in this window of wind.

Weather up here in NE Scotland had been swinging from torrential rain with leaden colour skies to blazing sunshine all in a matter of seconds for a few days now. I have seen the combined array swing from 800W incoming to 7.3kW in those seconds. Very glad the batteries & hybrid inverter are there to grab these dynamic weather shifts when they present themselves and store them for evening use. :D

Update from site at Kirk Hill

26/05/2022

Pre-construction preparation is well underway at Kirk Hill.

At present, Ground Investigation (GI) works are underway on the site. A tracked drilling rig is moved to each of the turbine locations and drills down several metres, the exact depth depending on the conditions found. Metal sleeves are inserted and then extracted so that soil samples can be taken to a lab for detailed analysis. The results show how much soil is present, and the depth that rock is hit at - this will help our civil contractor to design the foundations for the turbines. And takes us one step closer to generating cheaper, greener energy for all our members.

We'll keep you updated on the build process, every step of the way

outside of the visit please view it from the public road at the bottom of the hill (location details above).

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in July.

Just a slight skew within the topic, having listened to Sunaks money to the poorest (likely straight into the hands of the energy companies)

What would £400 - 600 get for those 8? million households if the govt had said to Ripple, make us a societal energy bank, using that cash to offset the bills of the least able to afford it beyond one goodwill "pass" within the social system that may amount to a winter quarter of folks electricity bills covered (you hope)

I know i've mentioned along these lines before, but this is the first time the money has been conjured up, doubtless to be clawed back again elsewhere.
so this time, less pie n' sky ...the poor are ongoing not solved by a one off that could keep giving back (& being sold to europe as part of the push pull two way energy interconnector map)

Again, "green lottery" to keep momentum going forward.
