NB, anyone else looking at an airfryer right now there is a 20% off code on amazon currently, so for instance the linked 5.7 litre unit is reduced to £95.99 from £119.99 when applied at checkout

Discount also applicable to the dual air fryer too.
That's a good find Gus. I am using my £5 cast iron Pyrex pan find for the first time. It had been intended for woodstove cooking but turns out it is perfect for induction cooking.
This is a slow cooked lamb and scotch bonnet balti for tomorrow night. Yes indeed!

It is pulling 140W every two seconds for a second. Even I can work out that this is managing to cook for 70W.

I still don't get how that's possible? The heavy mass pan and induction hob seems to be a hell of a combo.

Unless I’ve misunderstood, isn’t that 140W every three seconds ?

Just trying to save you 24W

Whichever it is, Joe, it’s very impressive.

Been following this with interest - I’ve been impressed with induction hobs when we’ve been ‘away’; the AirFryer conversation is excellent info too.

I’ve just never been a kitchen gadget person, strictly analogue ;) Might have to have a rethink.

Same here, yet we seem to have stumbled into this. Stinsy got into my subcon a few months back on this as we already had the induction hob but rarely used it. That coupled with a low sense of dread knowing how inefficient a standard oven can be led me to this place. Literally no downside. The secondhand market is full of these units. If you buy as I did (used once, owner didn't like it) then there is no carbon count. Literally being uncle Bulgaria. I like that. :)

The lamb curry is back on today for a 9 hour slooowwwww cook. I've been in places in Turkey where they do these extraordinarily long lamb cooks or a couple of days soaking in natural yoghurt. Tremendous results. We will see how this goes today and how much power to cook for this long. Hopes are high! :)

I guess this is a natural extension of the long slow cooks i did on the WS over the Winter yet even lower power going into the pot.
