I am pretty sure this will be a 2 day affair involving me, SWMBO and son. I might start the rails when I get back from Germany on the 13th June.

Massive breakdowns in delivery. Solarsparky has so far sent the rail system order in two deliveries, still waiting on the 4mm cable and the rails in hopefully the 3rd delivery!

Bimble failed to deliver the panels yesterday and are looking into it.

The moral of this story is that in turbulent solar times its best to get your order in early.

Panels showed up this morning. Grant from Bimble was on it.

Tradesparky? Not so much. Two phonecalls finishing with 'this isn't good enough'. I now have delivery for the rails and cable for Friday. 31st May to 17th June timegap from order to delivery is poor to say the least? Especially with the delivery next day if ordered before 2pm.

On the upside, they had rail system in stock and were willing to sell me it, unlike Midsummer wholesale who tried extortion as a business practice. Hopefully the hangers are correct and I can crack on with it when back from France in a fortnight.

As long as the bin isn't obviously too heavy and a bag of standard rubbish is on top, it works for me. ;)

Will be interesting to see how you get on in the autumn with the extra couple of stings.

Pushing that solar envelope out a bit until the WT1 kicks in with the autumn jetstream.

Well Nowty, it's all going well. Panels are tested OK and now stored in front shed until we return. I think I've got a fortnight in July tween France and Turkey. There's only a couple of days work max so should get them going.

Passing through garage and 4.95kWh from Solaredge and a mighty 3.1kWh coming in from the Victron. Pretty sure that's a new PB or a close match. 🤔

I will likely set the victron unit to around 50A max and see how it goes? I am not that interested in the top end spikes(although who doesn't like a PB)! More the bigger net to catch marginal irradiation on our traditional grey days.

Tempted to update my sig but unless it's outputting, it ain't real. Well chuffed to be within shouting distance of the double digit kWp club.

I was sorely tempted to lay the panels out flat on the deck today and hook em in.

SWMBO is having a garden party for her Mum's 85th Birthday on Saturday so that idea didn't see light. Would have been SO easy too.

Can't wait to get up there and craick on, best real estate on the plantation and last to be used!

17.45hrs is getting on for me in terms of solar generation. In saying that we are still seeing 1.6kW incoming with EV charging and 75%soc in stack. When new PV addition is on that should be at least 2kW if I could run the day again to this point in time. I am genuinely enthused to see what that top spot can produce, especially in the shoulder months.

Final bits (rails & cable) arrived this afternoon. A total of 17 days from ordering to order completed and on site. Just mentioning as a reference for anyone planning/buying. It wasn't like this pre Covid. Could order and 36hrs later crack on.
