All the news of petrol prices has reminded me of the past. I remember when mum would go to the local station and ask the nice man to put £2 in.
And then later when I was driving and had the Pontiac Firebird, I used to pick the pump furthest away, so as not to hold people up, then sit on the rear bumper and fill it (rear facing filler). People used to look at me in horror when I said it cost £35 to fill up.
That was about 30yrs ago. Now I'd have to pay 50p/kWh to spend £35 filling up the Tesla, and it would do twice the mileage on a 'tank'.

The suns come out big time here at Nowty Towers today, after a week of fairly poor weather. Just about managed to get SWMBO car fully charged, a bit each day for her weekend in London, and I'm now pumping the solar at max rate into the TM3, all free, not even paying the cheapslot price.Mart wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 1:23 pm All the news of petrol prices has reminded me of the past.
