Re: More Renewable Shenanigans at Nowty Towers
Slight off topic but what an evening I've had. Nothing to do with the aircon unit, but I have just spent the last 5 hours to Heathrow and back thinking I was saying goodbye to my inlaws who have visited from South America for the past month. After battling to get a wheelchair for my mother in law and waiting for nearly an hour in the queue to do the bag drop, the flight was cancelled so we are all back in Nowty Towers and the TM3 needs a good re-charge.
At least the sun tomorrow will fill it full again for sure.

Unlucky, there's an awful lot of disruption in the flight network and likely to be for some time to come. Post covid quakes, I hope they get away OK next time. Really enjoyed the simplicity of the ferry crossing to France and the flexibility of slot, Rock up early and off you go, not such a fan of the 700 mile drive to get there though!nowty wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 10:01 pm Slight off topic but what an evening I've had. Unfortunately, that likely won’t help a lot - for a destination in S America!

Indeed. Unless they fly from Paris....Oliver90owner wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 8:03 am Really enjoyed the simplicity of the ferry crossing to France and the flexibility of slot

As I did for years working out of Brazil.
After the insane bedlam of the last couple of years in travel it has been very nice to drive aboard, stretch legs, eat and then drive off. All very calm and quiet.
I sympathise with Nowty's inlaws After a while, getting home is what it's all about.

Re: More Renewable Shenanigans at Nowty Towers
After waking up this morning I was not looking forward to several hours online or on the phone to the airline. After the Covid cancellation two years ago, it took three attempts of several hours to re-schedule them.
But all ok, emails and boarding cards already through with re-scheduled confirmed flights for tomorrow evening and from T5 so its an easier journey. Only drawback its three legs instead of two, the first to Madrid, but the connection waits are shorter so hopefully still all good.
Was dreading it being next week with the train strikes as Heathrow are warning of severe tailbacks and full car parks.
There are 24 superchargers at T5 too, but I'm not going to need them.

Re: More Renewable Shenanigans at Nowty Towers
Only just got round to opening the boxes.
The outdoor unit is 31kg and quite easy to move around, plastic handles on the sides make it easy to lift.
Liking the air heat exchanger. lots of pipes and fins.
Indoor Unit is very light, about 10kg.
Bits a pieces, 4m long pipes nicely lagged and pre flared connections protected with plastic inserts. My only niggle is the condensate pipe is only 2 metres long, would have been ideal if it was 3 or 4 metres and then simply could be cut to size.

Re: More Renewable Shenanigans at Nowty Towers
Are you using a condensate pump?
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger
(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Re: More Renewable Shenanigans at Nowty Towers
No need for this installation,
In cooling mode the condensate comes from the high wall unit, so drains under gravity, just have to make sure it does not drip down the exterior wall.
In heating mode the condensate comes from the outside unit which will be slightly raised off the ground and there is a drain hole in the base of the outside unit with a plastic spout attachment (bottom left of the bits a pieces pic).
