Since when were 2.4kWh Pylontechs £1000? That is 30% more than they were a few months back!

https://www.itstechnologies.shop/collec ... ry-storage

And they cannot even guess when you might actually get them!
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

That is SO bad for the lads & lassies coming in. Best to focus on the alt storage solutions and insulation until the prices hopefully come back down a little?

When I bought mine a few years back, everyone who was paying attention thought they’d be £350 a piece by now…

From what I've been able to gather the Chinese chip shortage is at the root of it and supply and demand just kicks in. "We've got them so how much is the market prepared to pay for them". As always it will take ages for the price to come down again if ever, a lot like fuel prices. The free market at it's best!!

I must admit I had solar installed in March and I couldnt afford the batteries at the time. I regret it now I've seen how much I'm exporting (75-90% most of the time).

Now I am trying to navigate how to get upgraded its a minefield both price wise and system wise. I am usually pretty good at researching tech solutions but this one is evading me.

And now you've lost the 0% vat option for batteries you had on the initial install, although that might have only come in, in April.

PS - MattBW, how much PV did you have installed, so I can add you to the Camelot Generation totals.
