Just noticed the propane gas bottle in the picture. 8-)
Volume wise it stores 270 times the volume of the bottle size.
Can make the room / shed much bigger. :(
Better stored out doors.

Thanks Alan, do you mean the yellow map gas cylinder on the rothenburg ignition system? Had never thought to store those anywhere other than in a workshop? Open to other thoughts...

Sun is fading fast here and we have harvested 46.79kWh today from the 2 arrays. Pretty sure that's a PB due to the on/off grey skies of May & early June?

Had a wonderful 85th Tea party for my MIL today, nephew up from London, works for BP. Loved the solar on site, taking photos to show his mates! :D

Its a hard life.

Even with several of EV trips to London my leccy import has been less than 5kWh over the past month. I know its difficult for really hard up folk to pay for their energy but how many of the population who could have easily have done what many of us lot have done, PV, batteries, EV, HP, etc, but didn't.

Like one of my neighbours came to speak with me about 3 or 4 years back, his wife wanted to do something with a £7k redundancy payoff. I gave some advice and they now have a 6kW PV with a hybrid inverter and about 7kWh of Pylontech batteries. We spoke a few weeks back and they say its the best money they have ever spent, even more so with the energy price crisis.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 26MWh generated

40kWh Thermal storage

It is an excellent thing, genuinely excellent that you can help your neighbours out with your knowledge and skills. Many lead a life that doesn't come close, good on ye!

This is it!

Now none of us are talking about the people living paycheck-to-paycheck or those in rented who don’t have the option. But there are huge numbers of people who, in the same position as your neighbours, would have spent the money on a holiday, or an ICEV, or consumer goods.

Good on you for giving the advice and good on them for taking it!

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Tile rail hangers, REALLY hate that part...

EV was in for a recall this morning so cracked on with the tile hangers for the last (ahem, honest guv) three panels. Got all 10 hangers installed. Rails tomorrow afternoon I think. Have just enough room to get all three panels in side by side in portrait on the other side of the sunpipe caps and above the velux.
It will be nice to see if this set brings the Victron system close to balance with the solaredge system in the afteroons.

This seemingly endless series of overcast days just reinforces the need for the bigger array if doing it for real in marginal conditions. I shall set my stall out and be hoping for a 1kW inflow on the worst of days outwith the mid Nov to mid Feb death of solar window at my Lat? That seems reasonable, the days when it's absolutely fizzing are not so important. They are a given when they show up but sadly not my day to day.

While waiting for the EV to charge we are cooking roast beef & tatties on the induction hob.

We still have 1.1kW incoming from PV. Of course my mind wonders 'could that be 1.5kW this time tomorrow'? :D

It seems like no time at all when this would have been 600W at this time in these conditions. Yet by approaching it from both ends 1. Power generation and storage 2. Effective power use and efficient machines. Voilà, a grey overcast evening and the meal is cooking, EV is charging and there's even 0.4kW for the Iboost to the HWT. We have no fear of the grid or grey skies! :ugeek:
