Both aircon units are now controllable via smart phone and I set a timer last night so they both came on today at midday. SWMBO came back from work mid afternoon and texted me it was bloody hot at work but the house and even upstairs was lovely.

On my return I found that it was too cold downstairs as some of the cold air from the upstairs unit was adding to the cold air downstairs so I have altered the temp and I set the downstairs unit one degree higher (lower power) than the one upstairs and that seems to be just right.

The unit upstairs is high over the stairwell and we left the bedroom door open and another spare room closed. I just checked the temps inside our opened door bedroom verses the closed door spare room which are both upstairs.

The closed door spare room feels hot and humid, temp 26 degrees, so is like what out bedroom normally feels like in these hot conditions.

The opened door bedroom is a comfortable 21 degrees, so it works as I hoped even without fitting aircon in the actual bedroom which would have been difficult. :D

Looks like you are finding the Goldilocks spot nicely. I forget if I asked, what load does one unit pull when in active cooling mode?

The max is roughly 1kW if you whack it on max, but its generally 500W, so both units operating yesterday was 1kW. Had them both on for 12 hours, so 12kWh, plus we were charging both EVs at one time or another. We generated 56kWh from the PV and self used 53kWh.

External import 0.1kWh.

That's excellent, a small power outlay for massive benefits. I am leaving my lower floor inverter unit on 24/7 at 25 degs and its just brilliant. Even if the power trips for a few hours the whole place remains 😎. The bedroom unit goes on overnight when we sleep again at 25 degs and as low as it can run.

I guess the Grid Feed In is the export to the grid.
3.87kWp PV
10.24kWp PV SolarEdge system
Tesla Powerwall 2
100 x 47mm Navitron tubes (still being installed!) Now likely to be removed for more PV.
MK2 PV router DHW diverter
Morso 5kW WBS
Vaillant AroTherm 10kW ASHP
Nissan Leaf

My assumption:

External Energy Supply = Energy from the grid.

Grid Feed In = Energy to the grid.
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

The aircons a bit addictive, we went to a beer garden mid afternoon and left soon after as it was too hot and wanted to get back to the cool house. :?

SWMBO moved her ironing station onto the upstairs hallway today and the new upstairs aircon unit has her approval.
