Yep, one of those books that looks daunting, given it’s size, but once started. I agree, something you can re-read and the film is eminently watchable.

Never tire of watching it, though I probably know the lines better than some of the cast.

Last light so to speak and in this very marginal day the solaredge produced 9kWh while the Victron produced 8.5kWh. So that's a full day run step up from 79% to 94.6% of Victron production compared to Solaredge. Lesson learned here, take the time to do a sweep of mc4's for damage ( or solder and forget), position your panels at optimal locations on your property. Fit plenty panels. :ugeek:

Well that was a pretty excellent day, a lot of cloud then blazing sun swiftly followed by more cloud. We have a total of 5 different orientations and pitches across the PV systems. Being closely matched in size and depending on cloud cover its a close run thing on which system wins each day. Today the Victron system won. :D Very happy with a 30kWh day!

Did better than us! For half the morning here the inverter was barely awake, generating around 50W or so. We were running on the batteries until after lunch, when it started to brighten up a bit. Still only made 12.82kWh today, pretty grim given that we can get around 40kWh on a good day.
25 off 250W Perlight solar panels, installed 2014, with a 6kW PowerOne inverter, about 6,000kWh/year generated
6 off Pylontech US3000C batteries, with a Sofar ME3000SP inverter

Only 17kWh here today, we have 9 different orientations and pitches.
FIT1 - 7.7kWh
FIT2 - 6.6kWh
Non FIT - 2.8kWh
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 26MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3

I have found it fascinating watching the rise and fall of solar generation depending on the time of day. The West facing Solaredge is excellent. It will be blasting out 1.8kW while the Victron has fallen away to 800W or so in the evening. I even took the time yesterday to trim the hedge again to give the hot tub pergola its best chance. The result is a combined 2.1kW output at 08.30hrs, that'll do!

Off out in the EV this morning to collect some locally brought on Rhubarb plants. My apple/Rhubarb split is way out of whack, must address this instantly. All joking aside, looking at the headlines today on the energy cap and defo all you can do for yourself the better.

Yesterday we managed a very nice 19.8kWh from the west faced array and the mobile system gave a further 2.65kWh from the mobile system, I am seriously considering some more small (18V) hand deployed panels for the poorer months but unsure whether to tie these to a battery stack and offline inverter / separate house ring or attempt to grid tie in some form.

I also want to add 2 more large (36V) panels in consol tubs to the porch roof of the parents to help their DC system

I’m a big believer in taking responsibility for yourself.

Throwing up a few panels and installing a few batteries has significantly reduced the impact of the recent energy price rises for us lot to one degree or another.

I’m jealous of those who have a logpile / wood burner that’ll keep them warm this winter. I’m relying on my A2A and resistive heaters together with my 0230-0630 7.5p/kWh cheap slot to keep my gas consumption under control this winter.

However the majority seem to be planning on doing precisely nothing to mitigate their costs this winter…
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)
