Hello

Hello to everyone, posters and lurkers.

I'm new here and found this forum during web searches regarding Solar PV systems and batteries around 2 -3 weeks ago.

I am new to this area, but I have always been focused on reducing dependence on third parties, increasing efficiency in the home and growing our own fruit, and veg where possible, harvesting wood for winter heating etc. The past 6 months has helped convince me that I need to take this to the next level.

However, I am a mid thirties health professional who works mainly from home and lives in suburbia in the west midlands, so I am, perhaps, not in the most typical location or job to focus on self reliance.

In terms of hobbies I used to play a lot of civ back in the day, but over the past few years those skills have been put to real world applications. Currently, I'm trying to figure out how to pick up and improve on electronics knowledge from when I was a kid to maximise output from a new solar array :? It's like doing a sudoku but there is an actual prize at hte end.

Welcome! We’re mainly suburbanites on here.

I'm in the quintessential suburban commuter town even though I always worked in the countryside, hence space is at a premium given all the junk I have accrued over 43 years here.

Oh forgot to say welcome Krill

Hi Krill and welcome, the guys have been very helpful to me on our way to achieving energy self reliance and net zero. Still a way to go but we've dispensed with FF's for domestic and transport needs. I continue to be amazed at what they are up to and for sharing knowledge to help others. So don't be shy, give it a try!

Thank you everyone for the welcome :)

I'll try and post a little thread later on, with pictures and numbers for some advice.
