Same here. I seem to be getting the live power as it changes. The database isn't working

Hi Andy, thanks for confirming that, Mine is the same i can check the output on the inverter screen and nothing
wrong with the output backed up by my Geo monitor all is well, so its just the online monitoring thats down.
I guess we will just have to wait untill they fix it.

many thanks.

Its annoying but 3 years ago it used to happen a lot at the weekends. I guess it is server maintenance. A few days later everything would appear again. That's why I hate it when companies don't provide a way of monitoring/controlling their products locally.

I agree with you 100% about the need for local monitoring. Sooner or later all remote monitoring is going to shut down, just a matter of whether those servers stop being paid for and supported during the lifetime of the product, really. No company is going to carry on paying to provide a service for ever, unless it's funded by user subscription, perhaps.

The Solarman app also goes offline from time to time, not usually for long, and it's not clear if this is down to server problems or connectivity between here and China. I stopped using it a while ago and set up Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi. That gets data directly from the unit and has no need for internet connectivity, so only needs the house LAN to stay working. It does mean I can't monitor the system when away, but then I don't really have any need to do that, as most of the time I only monitor things to see whether or not it's OK to turn big loads on, like now when I have the car charging at a low rate as the battery is at 100% and the hot water is charged.

Not hard to set up Home Assistant, I found. Hardest part was finding a way to get data from the inverter, but someone had already come up with a way to do that so I just copied what they'd done.

And the great thing about the SolarEdge is that is supports modbus over ip so you can integrate it into your home system. I'm concerned about the accessibility of parts for the optimisers in 20 years time. We will cross that bridge when we get to it.

Much the same with the Sofar inverters. They have an RS485 Modbus connection that can get data directly from the inverter and it's very easy to get that to connect to WiFi by just adding an ESP8266 and RS485 module, which then allows the data to be accessed via MQTT, or directly via a wired connection if that's feasible.

Yesterdays Data has now backfilled so i guess its time for me to learn all about modbus and what i can do with it.

My thanks to those confirming it was a problem on the solaredge side.
