(is it weird to have a title in the 3rd person?)

don't normally bother with introductions but decided I will this time :-)

hi

used to be quite active on the navitron forum before it was killed off... I've been missing out on renewable tech talk ever since :-o

Mart.
It is indeed. There seems to have been two stages, the first was when the old forum collapsed, the now dead second forum started, and short lived links here were still up. The latest seems to be this place getting picked up on search engines, I think. I did notice that the original forum's successor forum did have some links to here, but the mods there were taking them down fairly quickly.

Not sure about others, but I did get a somewhat ranty email from the management of the original forum's successor not long after it started, at the time I registered. No idea what caused that, but get the feeling there must have been stuff going on behind the scenes. Great shame that all the wealth of knowledge in the old place was just deleted, though I believe that some of it is still around on the Wayback Machine.

Anyway, welcome knighty. I was on the old place many years ago, but got expelled by Martin. Not at all sure why, even to this day.

Knighty, if you have any contacts from the old place? Can you let them know about this place and on it hopefully goes?
Thank you.

I can't honestly remember what moniker I used at the old place. I was expelled from there some time around 2010 to 2012, so was just an observer from outside for many years.

Don't think anyone who spent time there avoided a run in with martin, his semi clad hippy girl fetish from yesteryear festivals was a tad questionable 😳😆
I used to regularly drop the site & forget it for months at a time based on his "quirkiness, thru vitriol" lest I say something resulting in a perma "nuke"ban.

He did give me a massive amount of *h1t for a signature he took personally, it merely served to incentivise me to wind him up, once you were in his sights he had it out for you, so I was as careful as anything, thus sent little things back at him, he was apoplectic most days anyway, so it didn't take much, & then there'd be the threatening DM's. ..sometimes machine running out 3 at a time ..like a "one more thing" conversation

It was his problem though, not "st elsewhere's" ..he wasnt all bad ( far from it) but the bad bits were pretty intense 😂
I always thought Martin would be like a character from viz "Malcolm Wright-Pratt" from "The modern parents"
