LuxPower - “balance” issue
Hi,
I have a pair of LuxPower 3600 ACS units working with 2 x 4 Pylontech US2000 batteries. It’s been in and stable for about six months now. The system was installed as a single unit with the 8 batteries back in 2019. The installation of the slave unit was a bit of a nightmare- but down to the installer not understanding the interconnection between the master & slave units. All got resolved and I’m happy with it.
One minor issue has been there since day one back in 2019 as a single unit and exists now as a dual master/slave unit. It’s a small import which happens when the house is running off the battery system. It seems to import roughly 50 or 60 watts. It’s not much but does accumulate over time - resulting in daily import of 1 to 2 kWh. Thing is that the Lux monitor doesn’t see it - but my independent monitor and SolarEdge monitor do.
I asked support at Infinity Innovations if anything could be done and got a fairly curt response saying that my system wasn’t importing anything. End of. So, how would they know that as they only have access to the Lux monitor for my site.
Has anyone experienced this response from them and I’d appreciate any ideas and comments on how to go back to them as it seems to me that they have got away with brushing me off.
If this could somehow be tweaked by 50/60 watts then my import would be close to zero most days, whereas even 1 kWh a day soon adds up over the course of a month/year.
In anticipation- Rob

Re: LuxPower - “balance” issue
Have you looked to see if you can calibrate the CT? On our Sofar there is a setting that allows the CT offset to be adjusted, to compensate for small errors. I needed to adjust ours to change the power read by about 50W IIRC, as it was reading a small export when in reality the power was turned off. I'm not sure if the Lux inverters have the same option, but in my case it was a bit of a trial and error process to fine tune the CT offset calibration number to get it to read zero when there really was zero import or export.

Re: LuxPower - “balance” issue
I had the same. I emailed Lux in China and they did a firmware update which fixed it…

Thing is the system is actually consuming that power from the grid, but I take your point. I don’t recall a setting - but will have a look. However, it was their response that I was a bit disappointed by.

Re: LuxPower - “balance” issue
I had the 3600 software upgraded by China when the new slave unit was added - so the software is only a few months old.
What exactly did you ask China please? Could you copy/paste the wording here please?
Thanks - Rob
Re: LuxPower - “balance” issue
Many inverters have a setting where you can compensate for misscalibrated CTs. The Lux doesn’t. In fact at some point they changed the web interface and hid a whole load of settings from the user that’d previously been there. My guess is that Infinity were annoyed at getting CS calls asking about the settings so asked Lux to remove them.Lincs Robert wrote: ↑Fri Sep 23, 2022 8:04 pm Thing is the system is actually consuming that power from the grid, but I take your point. Just checked my IHD:

Re: LuxPower - “balance” issue
Hello.
I have a LuxPower hybrid inverter. It works just fine except it consistently exports around 50W (as measured by my power company) while the inverter thinks the power going to the grid is zero.
I have looked through the settings in the online interface and I cannot find a setting to calibrate the CT.
How do I do this?
Regards
Hi
Please let us know the serial number of the inverter and we will try to correct the reading
Thanks

Re: LuxPower - “balance” issue
Fair point. My IHD and separate display (Eco Energy Eye) are both showing roughly 60 watts being imported. Yes, it jiggles around that number a bit and also jumps up in response to a sudden load before ramping down …..
It’s good to see someone having only 4 watts!

Thanks - roughly when did you have this dialogue with China?Stinsy wrote: ↑Fri Sep 23, 2022 8:13 pmHello.

I’ll use your wording and keep my fingers crossed
