I echo BTB's sentiments.

OGB, ...I was stitched up on a never happened assault charge some years ago, the neighbour came round last year (30 Oct 2021)damaged a car, assaulted me, tesla didn't record, copper says no footage so no "plod-ney" action, they dngaf if there is any actual door knocking to do.

Make sure anything happens within camera range, resist all attempts to get you to move if things get heated.

Diary logging time of everything, & hand it over to the police farce & the clown prosecution service.
Fingers crossed this can be put to bed, it's getting ridiculous.

Ring for your community copper & councillor to meet with you (councillor can verify warrantless complaints & nature of this person unknown)

Good idea to notify the police, if only to cover our backs, perhaps. Here she is, red-handed, ripping the sign off our fencing:

The other aspect is perhaps perverse, but the longer you leave it before taking action may indicate you’re not that bothered.

Problems never resolve themselves of their own accord - the longer they’re left the harder to resolve they become.

+1 for notifying the police, also copy to the Parish council for anti-social behaviour and if they threw the note on the floor - littering!

Don't suffer this quietly - use the law and public opinion to obtain a satisfactory conclusion and make sure you keep the front of the house covered by CCTV for a few months after just in case anyone is stupid enough to try to do anything else !

Seems a bit like that. Mental illness is not the sole preserve of males. We are just more noticeable. Best to get it nipped in the bud before she drops a turd on your weclome mat.

Yes, it's back to what I said some time ago. There seem to be some people with an such an absolute blind hatred of someone or something that they think society is negligent in not backing them up and see themselves as crusading against it, the powers-that-be having let them down.

That "it" can be a member of an opposing political party, a philosophy (like our "Transfer whatever energy use we can to renewables") or even an approved development like a housing estate.

When the old bats start doing damage it's time they were told firmly that it's they who are on the wrong side of the law. Preferably by somone big, in uniform.

A very apt description! She is fairly well known for being a nuisance like this, nothing better to do with her time, I think. Be interesting to see what she makes of her photo pinned up on the fence, with the words "Do you know this person" above it. like a wanted posted. My wife's not happy, though, she reckons we should just let thing lie and not stir them up any further.

I've reported it to our local rural policing officer, who's going to pop in to have a look and give us some advice. I have a reasonably good CCTV system already, and an alarm that covers the house and outbuildings, but we can't have any bright outside lights as we're in a "Dark Skies" area. Not sure the police can really do anything if it's just someone being a bit eccentric, but it has shaken my wife up. She's just watched the video and what's shaken her is that it was deliberate. the person had no reason to walk down our lane, walked past our drive, clearly looking to see if anyone was about, before backtracking to rip the sign off, and, we've just found, kicking the top stones off a part of our new wall.

A nut job then, your swmbo is reacting properly to a bampot who has focussed on you. Keep the cctv pointed at the front of the property. You have done the correct thing reporting it, i like the parish council report idea. Much beyond this and I'd be having a personal word at 11pm on her doorstop and reading of horoscope. Sad to say that last but the eejits I've dealt with over the years soon back off when you present who you actually are/can be to them. It seems to get through. Best of luck with this. Backing off or going passive doesn't sound like an option to me.

Kicked stones off the wall !? enough malicious intent to throw them next judging by this latest action.I
Doubtless you will be told it is a civil matter, personally I'd be finding out whether she has any mental health issues, in which case it will knock criminal damage on the head, but more seriously the community care health & police should be intervening, a word with a friendly to is not likely to get you anywhere at this point in time.

Not on that it is now upsetting your wife too, ie wearing down the entire households resolve waiting for the next "crazy bomb" to be dropped.
