pricier, but yes an option indeed, ..why dont i ever see these reviewed in normal algorithm searches of video / detail?
Thanks for the link.

Re: Can anyone comment on "Project EV chargers"
@OGB
it should be as simple as the absence of ability to connect (removal of the sim card) that reverts it back to dumb charger without restrictions, ..its not that i object to "pulling together" ..we only use trickle charge as is, 7kWh wuld be speeds unknown at home, but trickle is favoured to not stress batteries anyway.
To reiterate: Never, even with leaf 24kWh was low / slow small battery a life impeding situation causer, less so with the much bigger but basic tesla, it is about time we "got modern" I can see 7kWh as handy for the leaf when daughter is using it in early days of driving, but true to form there are enough hours in the day to get by comfortably without, ...its more the 2+2 of solar + EV or send it to the grid for nowt in a world where the pressure is really on for energy costs, as per nowty it'd be nice to ring someone up & say bring your car over to fuel it up when you have plenty of solar potential, ...win win.
However, as things currently stand daughter gets the stress wobbles under test conditions, & last minute decided to opt for university after months of dithering (id have preferred more maturity having her go to Canada for a year+) ..parking space is £400 per annum in plymouth, thus the conundrum of car, escooter, etc, or whether she hobbles everywhere, shes 1st year off campus as *supposedly* "after covid" halls for 1st years was not an option, they were inundated with students, digs were hard to come by.
No idea about free charging plymouth way, but she has no access to one at her digs (why would a landlord even bother right now) you dont want to be paying nosebleed commercial rates.
Currently she has 2 days lectures, 5 days without, lecture halls around 10-15 mins hobble away, ..she sees the inclines as like being in any ski resort, necessary to the fun & easier after 5 days onwards ...& way less compacted snow & ice in plymouth as a bonus, so its debateable as to "needing a car" (practise is good though) ..shes currently chasing tests up here. which is a 600 mile round trip.

Re: Can anyone comment on "Project EV chargers"
The electrician who installed our Hypervolt point was quite negative about them.
But he was adamant that the Hypervolt is better than the Zappi, so I don't have a lot of faith in his judgement.

Re: Can anyone comment on "Project EV chargers"
Yeah, hypervolt came across as being a bunch of twat clowns, as per a previous thread about them, marketing "hype" ...just told them to sod off & leave me alone in the end, no way i'd risk having their product based on that experience, having told them that, (cease & desist) I still had them trying to phone me.

Re: Can anyone comment on "Project EV chargers"
Didn't know it had a sim, it will be accessible.
It's very communicative with abroad.
Would say about 40 seconds from cold to on. Little longer to establish with the app.
No customer service exists.
Don't know it's the PEN fault one with rfid.
Could be fitted by anyone, was installed by developer.
App is required. Zero privacy. Total garbage. Once setup does work though. But won't work local only.
All of it.
No.

Thanks for the honest and damning appraisal.
curiously enough that can stay in whatever area of hell it tends to reside.

Re: Can anyone comment on "Project EV chargers"
well a whole week has now passed awaiting the promised call & info about their product they already sell, their tik-tok / youtube presence might be all theyve got right now, whilst media presence is a modern necess so is info & doing as stated. (ie call back with the details, email etc ..considering all that was demanded)
So, i invite the upper echelon management (if they get to find this via al-gore "ithm's" ) a right of reply at regaining some brand credibility & faith.
...this time of calling the s/a sounding lady also wanted my details, even to log a complaint ....ffs, think & repair damage without further antagonism of the already let down (& annoyed) customer.
so in the meantime, for the sake of their company's data trawling, this hash-tag #ProjectEVsucksAss
..& i will now wait.
nb the company associated with this ev charger design, originally, is apparantly gro-tech.

Re: Can anyone comment on "Project EV chargers"
You need to relax a bit buddy, lots of the recent posts are a bit ranty and it’s a bit offputting on the forum
Re: Can anyone comment on "Project EV chargers"
I'm merely pointing out a company that is all over the place in media but seems to fail in its core aim to customers of product, & maybe therefore to be avoided when looking for kit, or for someone to say, "actually, dealt with them, they are normally alright" ..firms do drop balls.
That hasn't been the case here, feedback on their brand by a pre-existing owner has been more "dont bother" ..even though its cheap & solar *compatible* ..vague hyperbole as pointed out by nowty.
I welcome the company to pick up their game & this thread in order to try & dispell the likelihood of being crap (esp the past week) ..rather than it being totally one sided & tainted.
Thats an experience of them shared, not a rant, esp when we are aware of leeches latching onto renewables we are being herded into as cash cow opportunities, such as the infamous swindlesave from which the chocolate teapot emoji evolved at st elsewhere, forums like MSE are full of mis-selling (as well as folk not understanding what they bought) I couldnt even get that far, & to hope for a company response is wishing for good product, service & a desire to both support & recommend small british businesses that excel.
this forum is as much about environment as renewable tech, so yeah hard to ignore & not be emotionally charged, given a lot of stuff being screwed up & over, but rant? nah, just strong feelings, not a runway hand gluer.
As an aside, recent govt ollox has denuded many folk of even more trust in govt by their actions, if it was praiseworthy I'd be cheering common goals & good sense, today fracking & oil drilling licenses are being sold to us as green, should we ignore & not link pieces like that?
But thanks for the heads up as to your perception of things of late.
