Pylontech - Servtec console software

#1

Post by Lincs Robert »

Hi,

I’ve seen this advertised on eBay for about £50. A dongle & some software allowing insight into what’s going on within the Pylontech battery.

Does anyone have any experience of this they can share?

Thanks - Rob

Very easy to make your own for much less money. Software is all available to download on the internet.

If you have an older battery you need to send a lower bitrate command code to the battery for the proper serial to start.

A search of Github is a reasonable starting point: https://github.com/search?q=pylontech

There is also some useful stuff on other forums. Simplest option is probably an ESP32/ESP8266 plus an RS485 to serial module. Not hard to just read the data from the batteries and then pass it on to something like Home Assistant, via the ESP32/ESP8266 that can send the data using something like MQTT.
25 off 250W Perlight solar panels, installed 2014, with a 6kW PowerOne inverter, about 6,000kWh/year generated
6 off Pylontech US3000C batteries, with a Sofar ME3000SP inverter

Thanks, it all looks doable - but a little beyond my capabilities if I’m honest. The £50 solution does look attractive as it’s “complete” and the seller offers “support”.

Its really not hard at all and would probably cost about £10. I'll send some links when I'm near my computer.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260958579253 Cut in half and put RJ45 on cut end. If you dont have an RJ45 crimper (cheap and come in very useful) just buy a patch cable, cut and splice.

edit even cheaper here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275278032717

Thanks. I note that this will take it to a 9 way d type, whereas the connection on the US2000C is a RJ45 I think?
