Hi all
Fred from the other place.
Only found this forum as I was looking for info on sofar inverters!
Good to see lots of familiar names.
Hope I can contribute a bit to this place as well.
Best regards
Fred

Thanks Mr Gus

Spent quite a few hours reading the posts, alot are just like the old place, fun/interesting to read.

I have 4.6Kw of PV arranged in 3 systems as have limited roof spaces and lots of shading (north facing semi!)
(Still using the 2off 500W GTI I got from Nowty years ago :) )

I have just acquired a Sofar ME3000SP to stop me giving away my spare power as the cost of electricity is rocketed.

Using lead acid at the moment as I get them cheap - free! Reading up on Nodered and how I can use it.

Best regards

Fred

Hello Fred,

So glad you found us all again, if you know of anyone else from the other place and have their contact details give them a nudge!

Are the GTIs the Mastervolt Soladin's ?

The Sofar ME3000SP is a relatively nice easy to use unit.

Most of us are on lithium batteries these days but if your source of lead acid is free, why not.

Yes they are the Soladins, along with a couple of other units, all second hand of course.

I will start a thread when I have installed the Sofar and got it working with Nodered.

Got some amoured cables to finish installing along with Comms / CT cables into garage before anything else, that's the main problem with lead acid , its bulky, so they are going in man cave along with Sofar etc.

Best regards

Are you planning on using the "Passive" mode on the Sofar or just having some remote monitoring from it via the Nodered ?

I recall the postman couldn't find your address and those Soladin's did a very convoluted tour around the country to get to you. Glad they are still in operational service. :D

I think I have the email addresses for one or two from the other place, but they will be very old, as Martin ejected me from there sometime around 2014, IIRC. I know that I'd been in touch with ProDave back then, and he doesn't seem to have found us, and seem to remember exchanging emails with one or two others, many years ago. I'll dig out my ancient XP laptop and see if I have some email addresses saved and ping them, got to be worth a try.
25 off 250W Perlight solar panels, installed 2014, with a 6kW PowerOne inverter, about 6,000kWh/year generated
6 off Pylontech US3000C batteries, with a Sofar ME3000SP inverter

I plan on using the passive mode, but not sure how to use it.

I would like to absorb the solar in the morning (most of panels are in sunlight then) and use batteries in afternoon/evening when we all at home!

Any pointers please :)

Best regards
