Just had the November electricity bill (bearing in mind we're all-electric, so electric heating, hot water, car charging etc):

You've spotted my little cheat!

In reality the November bill will be about £64 I think, based on usage so far plus the standing charge.

Got to chuckle. UW have just emailed me my new payment plan from now until March 2023. My direct debit for December 2022 to March 2023 is now reduced from £12.00 per month to minus £38.66 per month. I await with interest how they are going to arrange a monthly "direct credit", instead of a direct debit!

£105 here, total consumption plus car charging, reduced by £66 (thank you HMG) and £50 from a kind referral use from here! -£10.66 effectively

Before the government grant was introduced I was paying £78/month and was over-paying a lot, so our present credit balance has built up and is now £382.43. At this time of year we use around £80/month with the heating on, so the credit balance alone would have kept us going through most of the winter, even without the direct debit payment. Add on the £400 from the government and the credit balance is just silly.

Without them paying us back every month until the end of March we would start next summer with the same sort of credit balance we have now, which is daft, as we barely use anything from around April to October each year.

Just had this month's bill from Utility Warehouse. Last month the bill was £12, this month it is (and they are going to pay me by "direct credit" each month!):

This is for the whole house, charging the car, running the heating, hot water, etc. And yes, it is distorted because we've been paying £78/month by direct debit over the past year, which is way more than we've really used, plus there is the government £67 credit chucked in. Our bill is going to stay at minus £38.66 per month until March, when they will review our direct debit.

Never had an energy supplier pay me every month during the winter, it's something of a novelty. Does highlight the advantage of making the house as energy efficient as I possibly could, though. Also means I have spare cash to try and help others not so fortunate.

The smart meter's been in for 6 months so that's technically not a year - although i don't think i used any grid power before the SM went in. The 0.56kwh is when i used the mig welder on high power - the powerjack inverter and my old battery can't keep the voltage stable enough, and the GTI conneted solar trips out, leaving me welding off the battery, so i ran it off the grid instead.

I haven't checked my 'bill' this month, but as you can see i'm currenty about 1/2 way through the council tax rebate.

I'm currently installing an ASHP though and I'm not even sure if the PJ inverter will run it, even when i am generating enough power, so things could be about to change. And as i can't yet afford an EV i'm still burning Diesel to get about so i still need to sort that out.

How big is your hot water tank (litres) and storage heaters (either kWh capacity or kWp) ?

I'm missing vital info.
