Security is important, these days. Only yesterday my internet email was hacked, resulting in numerous calls from people who received bogus emails apparently from me. I suspect it is the crew, from where I get my emails, that is likely responsible with yet another security leak.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Many years ago I used to post on a Yahoo Group (remember them - probably one of the earliest forms of social media) using my real name. Didn't think for one moment that it might be problematic. Needless to say we got hacked, and the whole thing took a lot of time to sort out and fix. Luckily we didn't get burgled, but we could have done, as I remember discussing holidays at that time.

I tend to be a bit more cautious and circumspect about the internet now, keep separate email addresses for things like social media, online shopping, banking, and personal correspondence with friends and family. I even use a VPN (had a Nord VPN subscription for years, now) from time to time with websites I may not wholly trust.

I'm sure I don't really do enough, but the problem is, the more security layers you add, the more inconvenient it becomes to use many web services. Not easy to find the right balance. The problem is worse for those of us that like to keep old kit going for as long as it still works, too, as that undoubtedly increases the risk. Finally, there are signs that crime levels are rising, and scammers are working as hard as ever to take advantage of people in these tough times, so it seems likely that we'll see an increase in opportunistic theft, I think.

I actually had no idea what the monument was called but Tenerife was what I was after.

Apparently it’s supposed to be slightly darker but I reckon it’s faded a bit in the sun.
