Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
What tariff are you guys on and why does Agile (South) not reflect this.
Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
I can't find exactly how the in day adjustment is calculated. I used 34 KWh during the 3 hr period last time and my saving was calculated at 22.8 KWh. ( I used nothing during the saving period).
Edit- just found this.

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
Tried logging into my Octopus account this morning and received a message saying "Uh oh you don't have the necessary permission." I had installed a Firefox update but having gone through permissions would have thought the problem was with Octopus. Have emailed Octopus accordingly.
Just wondered if anyone else had been confronted similarly?

I use Firefox, which did update yesterday, but can access it fine.

As you have batteries and don't generally use anything over a typical saving session period, then anything you use in the 3hr in day adjustment period becomes your baseline. So you used 34kWh over 3 hours, so that's an average of 5.66kWh per half hour charging period which is your baseline.Tinbum wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 11:49 am I can't find exactly how the in day adjustment is calculated. Last saving period was a 2 hr session so 4 half hour saving slots, so your calculated saving would have been 4 x 5.66 = 22.64kWh, i.e. very close to your 22.8kWh saving which you earned £2.25 per kWh in Octopoints. Octopus actually gets refunded £3 per kWh from National Grid but they have to fund their extra bonuses and spot prizes.
The official National Grid Demand Flexibility Service doc is here and is quite a hard read but go to the last couple of pages.

I explained it with a worked example earlier in the thread.

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
No batteries to charge here unfortunately but put oil radiator and dehumidifiers on timers from 6-8am, we were then exporting by 9:15am so hopefully achieved something.
We’ve done every session so far and I’m sure I read there will be bonuses for full participation.
Accessing the Octopus website above, try incognito mode, I had a problem for a while with Safari but this was a work around. It has worked fine normally for the last few weeks though in normal mode.

The 2 hr savings slots are like a 'super saver' as you only have to 'buy in' during 1 lot of 3 hrs, though with this mornings saver I didn't do my usual off peak charge which is about £2.50.

I had that happen once. Now I always check back to see that it states that I have opted in.
