4pm to 5pm tomorrow.
Shouldn't that be 5-6pm?
Could be!
5pm to 6pm it is. Cheers Fintray, overexcited here!

National Grid has specified the time interval 17:00 to 18:00 for the demand flexibility event tomorrow Monday 23rd Jan.
Opting in to Octopus is now open for the 17:00 to 18:00 saving session and remember to check you are opted in. I recommend after opting in, you log out and then log back in again and check your opted in status.
Its a higher pay out this time at £3.37 / kWh as the octopus won an average bid of £4.50 / kWh.
The all important "in day adjustment" window will start at 13:00 and finish at 16:00. I will be time shifting as much power as I can from my usual overnight cheapslot to the in day adjustment window.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 26MWh generated

105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage

Cheers Nowty, best idiots guide I've seen in yonks. All set up and ready to rock!

National Grid says savings can range from a few pounds to as much as £20 depending on the amount of energy used.
Challenge accepted?
I think this is the first real use of the DFS, all the previous ones have been tests, which could explain the higher payout amount this time?
£20, is that it?

Am I correct in thinking that if I time shift my usage so as to use an extra kWh per hour between 13:00 and 16:00, I should save 1kWh with the in day adjustment plus whatever I save by being frugal?
I am on Octopus Go with rates of approx 14p and 40p, so using 3kWh @ (40-14)p costs 78p and I would earn £3.37 for time shifting from the cheap hours to the window.
Has anyone joined a DFS scheme with another supplier?
I'm with Eon and apparently they're also signed up but it seems customers have to be invited to join: https://blog.eonnext.com/entries/109-sa ... ergy-shift
Maybe as quite a low user I'm unlikely to get the invitation, I don't have batteries so savings would be minimal (unless I could also game the system).

You can only join DFS via one company.
I signed up via octopus and ev.energy and they both wrote to me saying I needed to choose one supplier.
Octopus offered the greater rewards so chose Octoous
